Austin is still around but obviously not any good at it, and he isn't any good as a DC that he was originally hired for. Obviously just a Tomlin puppet.
Speaking of Austin, just take a look at his track record in the NFL as a DC and you'll be left scratching your head why he was hired by the Steelers. Oh, I know. He's Tomlin's buddy.
Over here, the guy who owns the friggin team even acknowledges Tomlin needs help with clock management, again four years ago: Steelers assistant could help Mike Tomlin with replays, clock management.
When you know, and don't do, that's bad.

I'm hoping he hangs 50 on the Steelers Saturday. I can't wait for the steely eyed stares from Tomlin into the Pittsburgh sky as he pretends to look like he knows what he's doing.

Only going to get to watch half of Bengals/Steelers because of holiday stuff. Two big Cincy mistakes in the first quarter. This is my first time watching Browning, but he sure seems to throw a slow, floaty ball. Also doesn’t help that the last game I saw featured Matt Stafford, who throws absolute lasers.

Any defense that can make Mason Rudolf look like Tom Brady is not a playoff caliber defense.

Also, I only saw the first half, but Browning's passes hung so long in the air I'm surprised he only had three picks. If I were a DB I'd be salivating for a chance to play against him. Those balls were like in slow motion.

There were two others that really should have been picked.

Mason needs to start these last two games and let Pickett reboot next year.

Neither of these teams need to get a whiff of the playoffs.

I agree they're bad. Like really bad. But could they fail to intercept moon balls like Browning was throwing tonight? Those things look like thrown punts.

I've never paid too much attention to the draft lottery skills challenge type stuff. But after watching Browning today, I'm rethinking that. I don't know where Burrow ranks in terms of arm strength, but Browning's passes look like NFL Films slow motion replays, except they're in real time.

Sure, a great arm doesn't equal a HoF quarterback - think of Jeff George or Jay Cutler or even Michael Vick as examples - but Marino and Elway and Favre and even Bradshaw are in a completely different league in terms of arm strength. Among today's active QB's, Stafford, Allen, and Mahomes at least are in that conversation, and probably a few others are in that ballpark. And there's a lot more than velocity to being a great quarterback. But from what I saw today, Browning would have to be so perfect in every other facet of the game to overcome the lack of velocity that I hold out no hope for the Bengals' chances at a meaningful playoff run with him throwing the ball. It just takes too long to get there.
