Well, it will have to be Lions/Chiefs.

The Ravens are the only team left that I have any animosity toward. Modell can fall into a cactus thicket before I'll ever want to see the Ravens do well. All their rings should have been in Cleveland.
Wow, how sad! Is there anyone currently in the Ravens organization that was even a Brown at this point? Clevend has a team with a lot of potential. That’s a nice thing to concentrate on, instead of hanging on to some bizarre, ancient hatred. Perhaps?

I would like to see Mahomes break Brady's Superbowl record. Partly because Mahomes seems like a decent person in a way Brady just doesn't. Yeah, Mahomes got fined for his comments about the refs a few weeks ago, but he's just not a sniveler like Brady came across as. I also just flat out detest Brady and everything about him. So there's that. I may be a little biased.
I could have typed this myself!

Naw, Brady needs to stay at the top where he belongs. The fact that he started winning Super Bowls again after a 10 year drought is further evidence how great he really was.
Look, I despised the guy in the 2000's when the Steelers were good and he'd beat them with one arm tied around his back. The guy drove me bonkers. But I've since come around to appreciate just how great he was.
I don't think Mahomes or Jackson will be around winning Super Bowls 10 years from now.

Because of my Texas Tech connection, I've been a fan of Mahomes for a long time. I can't say he'll equal Brady, but he'll be ranked among the very best by the time he's done. Like Brady, it helps that he is in an organization that knows how to put good players and quality coaching around him (I'm looking at you, Big Ben and Mike Tomlin).

I don't think Jackson will be. Mahomes might be, and it will be because he has reinvented himself as a quick-trigger pocket passer. I can see him doing that. Jackson might, but with his running, I don't think he will last. I was hoping Wilson would develop a quick trigger, but he doesn't seem to have done that, and it will end his career earlier as he loses a step or two.

Down to two vacancies as of this morning. Seattle and Washington. Atlanta hired one of the guys Seattle was going to interview a second time. The local press say that Quinn is the frontrunner at this point. I kinda hope not. He's good at being a defensive coordinator but his track record as a head coach isn't so hot so far. Not that I have much of an inkling about how the rest of those guys will do. And if Quinn's track record was better, he wouldn't be available now. So there's that.

So with this it looks less like Belichick will land anywhere that has much of a chance of doing much. Or maybe anywhere.
Coach Shula's record might be safe! That would make me VERY happy.

Best line I've seen about Belichick: Just because you're the best coach ever doesn't mean you're the best coach now.

Other possible issues: It's been rumored that he doesn't want to commit beyond a couple years. He also may want to bring in his old assistants like McDaniels or Patricia, and a lot of teams don't want them now.

If Belichick can't recreate the magic in Foxborough, why should anyone think he can do it somewhere else?
