Kudos to the Niners for a big comeback against an energized Lions team. I can't knock Campbell for going for it, that's consistent with his philosophy--which worked very well this year. I still think Purdy, while certainly talented, has been one lucky son of a gun in the playoffs. Not just on the crazy play; if you took a drink every time he hit a defender in the hands with a pass, you'd be blotto (at least I would).

Jackson tried to do too much with his arm. In his defense, Marc Andrews was pretty limited coming off of an injury, and the Ravens' starting RB Dobbins has been out all year. Also, Flowers was brilliant at times, but also made some really bad mistakes. And Mahomes and Kelce were absolutely locked in in the first half. MVS even made a clutch play at the end! I think Jackson will have them back in the hunt next year.

For the Super Bowl, I've got the Chiefs. Better QB and better defense. And I expect Purdy to have a little reversion to the mean on dropped INTs. (Then again, I expected that to happen this week.)

Laughing and also crying because the previous record for the largest comeback in NFCCG was in 12-13 season when my Falcons led the Niners 17-0 and lost 24-28.
Was an exciting game today.

Morning show did a bit on this today. 33 seconds total screen time for her. Hardly a big deal, yet brings new fans to the game.

By the way, did anybody notice whether McCaffrey came back into the game after landing on his head/neck? It was scary when he hit. I was glad to see he was able to get up.

I feel the same as you, although I'm happy for Mr. Irrelevant. I'll be rooting for the Chiefs mostly for Patrick Mahomes, but I'll be happy for the Niners if they win, too. It's just a game now, and I hope it's a good game.

About the same as just one of Mahomes' inane commercials. ;)

Pro sports is the part of the entertainment industry. It's all about getting eyeballs on the games and selling the product.

I don't like to admit it, but this is true. The NFL lost me a little further when they sold out to gambling /betting and they lost me a little further again when they tamed down the game to appeal to pop culture and that young crowd.
I grew up with a different NFL. I get it, nothing stays the same. The NFL has changed, well so have I. It's not nearly as appealing to me anymore. By the NFL now focusing on pop music fans that's a message to me that they aren't concerned with keeping me as a fan.
In regard to Taylor Swift, 33 seconds is too much. 33 seconds of anyone in the stands is too much, with the exception of the situations now and then when the camera will flash over to the parents of a player. I get that, and that's actually cool when it happens. Otherwise, I don't give a crap what some singer lady is doing in the stands. So what.
But hey, here we are.

I actually enjoyed seeing Barry Sanders. They focused in on him twice briefly if I recall correctly.

Well, that's cool too. Some gal who sings and is the lover for one of the players? No thanks. But, I'm also not 16 years old and have every pop stars songs memorized forwards and back.
I didn't grow up in a world where there was this idea to advertise at all times what I am doing. Even if there was a celebrity I admire at the game yesterday, who cares? I turn on the TV to watch a football game not find out which celebrities are there. They have other places like Entertainment Tonight, TMZ, People magazine, and whatnot to let folks know all that gossip.
OMG!! I need to run out and buy a KC jersey since so-and-so that I like was at the game? That sounds absurd when you say it out loud.

For me, I wouldn't say so much I am rooting for the Chiefs, but I think this is the time of year that experience matters. Even though they won't face off on the field, this game feels to me like it'll come down to Mahomes and Purdy. Mahomes is the superior QB in that matchup, which leads me to believe that KC will win the Super Bowl. Zero disrespect to Purdy, he's quite the QB himself, but I feel that Mahomes has an edge in this game.

I never got that mindset. The team that wins is the team that deserves it. Full stop.

I don't have a dog in this fight, so I'll just enjoy the game. But saying someone deserves to win before they play? Sounds entitled to me. At the height of my homerism, I never once said my team deserved to win.

I really like Mahomes, he's not only one of the best ever but he's also fun to watch. And outside of Travis Kelce, he's doing it these past two seasons with receivers who might not even make the practice squad in San Francisco.

Purdy has been good, but benefits quite a bit from his skill guys. My goodness, the Niners couldn't win a single game this year when they merely had three Pro Bowl receivers or running backs playing instead of their usual four. (And that's not counting Jennings, who had some big catches last night.) And as I've said, he's come up pretty lucky in these playoffs on dropped INTs.

Sweating Taylor's 33 seconds of camera time per game makes no sense to me.

I don’t get the TSwift thing. Like all the other girlfriends and wives she’s there to support. The NFL chooses to put her on screen and they do it for a reason. MONEY. $330+ million.

Watch or not. It doesn’t really matter to the NFL. There are plenty of people watching, and thanks to Taylor and Travis, lots more who have not watched before. Again, that’s what matters to the NFL.

I've got nothing against the Chiefs and think Mahomes is possibly one of the best QBs ever to play the game. I just want to see somebody that hasn't won the big game in a long time (nearly 30 years!) to get their chance again. Of course this is coming from a Lions fan who I guess has more "empathy" for other teams, lol.
