You forgot to mention that all Dallas Cowboys, past, present and future, are drug addicts, heathens, and criminals. They are.
With Houston apparently signing Mario Williams today, anybody want to venture a guess who's gonna try and work a deal with the Saints for Reggie Bush? I'm guessing the Saints are going to keep him, unless some team goes all Ditka and trades the farm for him.

I remember those Dallas teams in the 90's. They were awesome They even put it to my favorite team, the Steelers once. I just never got the impression from those Dallas teams that it was about anything more than them. Those dominate teams didn't have that "family" feel about them within the community. It didn't seem like they won one for the fans. I could be wrong though.

I got to meet and know quite a few Packer players over the years. I even had lunch with Ray Nitchske once. You should see the look on Packer player's and little kid's faces when the kids let the players ride their bikes to and from the practice field.
I don't know what it's like anywhere else...but the Packers belong to us...literally and figuratively. We're the only publicly owned professional sports franchise. They can't ever be sold. The Packers are a part of life here...year 'round. They are very much an extension of our community...and a part of our family.
We've sold out Lambeau field even when the Pack lost all the time. The season ticket waiting list is so long that it will take generations to get your name called. In fact, my great, great, great grandkids might eventually get some season tickets.
We're not fans of the Packers any more than one can be a fan of their brother. We cheer them on, not because they're our favorite team...they are us.

Well, as embarrassing as it is, given the new news, here are the revised picks:

Here's my mock
1. HOU - Mario Williams (DE). Duh ?!?!? I actually though they would trade down to get him, but doesn't look like it, huh?
2. NO - Reggie Bush (RB). I think that NY might trade up to get Bush, but if not then NO would be hard pressed to pass on him. 2ce has more miles on him, and Horn is getting older. Bush can help out Brees in the passing game, as well as give a weapon in the running game immediately.
3. TEN - Vince Young (QB). They want a guy similar to McNair, and he's it. He's mobile, and has a decent arm. TEN is rebuilding, and they think he's the guy to rebuild around.
4. NYJ - D'Brickshaw Ferguson (OT). They need some help on the line, as can be seen in their injuries at QB and problems with the running game. If they trade up for Bush, I think NO would take Ferguson at this slot.
5. GB - AJ Hawk (LB). The swiss cheese D needs some help, and this guy can make an immediate impact at LB. Let's hope he's a huge bust.
6. SF - Vernon Davis (TE). Although they have Eric Johnson, this guys is an athletic freak that will be hard to pass up.
7. OAK - Matt Leinart (QB). They need a QB, and Leinart is the guy with the pedigree and ties to Cali.
8. BUF - Jay Cutler (QB). Surprise! Losman may not pan out, and they need a QB. Even though OL is a need, they will probably look to later rounds to fill those needs. I could also see BUF trading down.
9. DET - Michael Huff (S). Possibly the best defensive player on the board. He'll help solidify a troubled DET secondary.
10. ARZ - Ernie Sims (LB). Cutler is gone, so they are going to look to fill needs at LB with one of the top prospects.
11. STL - Johnathon Joseph (CB). He has speed and size, and he'll help one of worst Ds last year.
12. CLE - Haololi Ngata (DT). They have needs, particularly on the D line. Crennel continues to rebuild the D with this athletic DT.
13. BAL - Broderick Bunkley (DT). They a someone to stop holes for RayRay, and he could be they guy.
14. PHI - Winston Justice (OT). Big blubber gets his wish for a big lineman.
15. DEN - Chad Jackson (WR). All of Shanny's manuvering gets him the player he covets.
16. MIA - Santonio Holmes (WR). The Saban didn't hide his desire for a top WR, and he gets the one he wants.
17. MIN - Chad Greenway (LB). Manny Lawson is another possibility, but I think Greenway is more of a known comoodity with better character.
18. DAL - Manny Lawson (LB). They hit gold with Ware, and they hope to go two in a row with this tweener that's a workout warrior.
19. SD - Antonio Cromartie (CB). They take a gamble on this kid with his injury history and year off from playing, but his combine performance and potential make him their pick.
20. KC - Tye Hill (CB). They need help on D, and this speedy DB could help them out.
21. NE - Jimmy Williams (CB). There seems to be a run on DBs. NE needs one, and this guy is a physical player who'll fit well with Belicheck's scheme.
22. SF - Kamerion Wimberly (DE). SF takes care of a need on the other side of the ball as this top DL prospect slides to them.
23. TB - Donte Whitner (S). He sort of a tweener (CB/S), and Gruden is looking to take the best player available that can add depth.
24. CIN - Leonard Pope (TE). With no glaring holes, they add a pass catching TW that can stretch the field.
25. NYG - DeMeco Ryans (LB). LB is definitely a need, and they address it with a consistent producer and leader in Ryans.
26. CHI - Richard Marshall (CB). Even though they signed Manning, they take the best player available. Pope would be picked if he weren't already gone.
27. CAR - DeAngelo Williams (RB). This talented RB drops, and he's right where the Panthers need him.
28. JAX - Bobby Carpenter (LB). DelRio hasn't hidden his desire for an LB, and he's the best left.
29. NYJ - Nick Mangold (C). Could be Jason Allen or Lendale White.
30. IND - Lawrence Maroney (RB). They are looking for someone to replace Edge, and this kid is versatile with big play ability.
31. SEA - Kelly Jennings (CB). SEA needs a CB, and this guy is a pure cover guy. I'll take my second picker here and go with Ybouty.

The Pack took Hawk. I'd have preferred Davis, but Hawk will be a good addition to the defense...and pairing him up with Barnett will make for a great LB corps.

I love the Santonio Holmes pick for the Steelers. The ESPN guys say the Steelers gave up too much to get him. It's a position they needed a good player at, so I think it was a smart move.

Jive, looks like you got your wish: the Bears took Hester in the second round... that seems kinda high for a kick returner.
I have to say that I'm pretty excited about Hawk and Abdul Hodge. I just think an impact OLB makes a better pick than a TE, especially if that LB is on the field every play (since a pass catching TE comes off the field often)... I was a little bummed that Davin Joseph and Nick Mangold were both off the board by the Packers first second round pick (I'm assuming that's why they traded their no. 36 and the no. 37 they got from the Broncos).
As for Walker, good riddance
Denver can have fun with him after he catches 50 passes and 5 TDs and demands a reworked contract...

Hodge, Barnett and Hawk might make for a very dynamic LB corps...quite possibly the likes we haven't seen in a very long time.
As far as Walker goes, I hope the Broncos only sign him to a one year contract...and lowball him to boot, only to have him turn out a lousy year for them. It would serve that whiny dumb-ass right. Driver's been more productive than him and he ain't whining (even though the media was trying to stir up trouble, saying Driver said he wanted his contract re-worked or he was out of Green Bay too...which Driver said was a lie).
By far and away my favorite comment about Mario Williams being drafted number 1 overall, from Deadspin:
"North Carolina State Williams nickname is Super Mario. Last year, the first defensive player taken was cornerback Pacman Jones. This is a very good sign for the draft prospects of University of Miami junior linebacker Frogger Johnson."

I think the Packers scored big with their two LB picks.
Now, along with Barnett, they'll have Hawk and Hodge. Everyone knows about Hawk, but Hodge led the Iowa Hawkeye's in tackles three straight years and is 3rd all-time in Hawkeye history...and he ranks seventh in tackles in the entire Division I-A since 2000. He has very similar stats to Hawk, but Hawk got all the press.
A lot of people seem to think of Hodge as a collegiate version of Ray Lewis...a real ball-hawk with a bad attitude, and we're kind of shocked he fell that far in the draft.
I can't wait to see how the LB corps play out this year. The Pack could have a mean defense this year, which would be cool, because their defense has been the weak link for some time.
Jennings looks like an interesting pick as well. The Pack needs more WR...and Jennings led the nation with an average of 8.91 catches per game, and ranked second in receiving yards per game with an average of 114.45. Looks like he was kind of under the radar too. Despite his size (5-11), apparently he's also a pretty good blocker (for a WR), and an excellent route runner. When's the last time the Packers had an excellent route runner? Last year, aside from Driver, most of the recievers didn't know where the heck they were supposed to be.
Time will tell...but it sure was an interesting draft this year, for every team.
