Aside from being terminally cheap, there are other factors. Much has been written about this. It's a shame, given the history of the franchise.

Yeah, I only did a cursory Wikipedia read. I figured it was someone at or near the top with more money than smarts for building a winning franchise.

I think the Packers are hearing Dandy Don sing "turn out the lights" in the distance. Too many injuries on a team that's not quite together this year.

Packers flat out suck this year. No defense, and no running game. Terrible combination.

Denver desperately needs division wins. If they can't beat KC Sunday I'm bracing for them to be the 10-6 team that misses the playoffs.

The AFC West is super tight this season.
I see the Broncos beating the Chiefs in the flexed Sunday night game.
Denver seems to bring it in prime time especially at home, whereas KC statistically wilts in these type of games. Hoping so anyway.

This score would be assuming that the Eagles can complete a lot of passes and capitalize on field position, which they haven't done in the past few weeks. While I'm rooting for the Eagles, they're on their 3rd RT, and have injuries and/or questionables at RB, TE, and on D. Luckily they have some depth this year.

I think the situation in Cincinnati is exactly the opposite of what's wrong in Cleveland.

How can any team, in any sport, expect any sort of consistency when the leadership changes year after year?

While Cincinnati might not get far in the playoffs, having the same system year in and year out has resulted in somewhat consistent results. How many head coaches has Cleveland had during the time that Marvin Lewis has been in Cincinnati? How many quarterbacks has Cleveland had during that time? Heck, look how many QB's Cleveland has had to go through in the first 10 games of this year.

There comes a time when an owner/GM needs to bite the bullet and take a wait and see approach. But we all know "NFL" stands for "not for long".

As a long time Patriots fan I feel bad for the Bengals and Browns' fans. I remember the horrible years after they got mauled by the Bears in the super bowl: Victor Kiam, Rod Rust, (1990 New England Patriots season - Wikipedia) and now the glory days. The fans became complacent with losing and at some point we just wanted them to avoid a shut out. The good part of them always losing was I got more work done on Sunday afternoons in the early 1990;s - no need to watch the whole game when you knew they didn't have a chance so I got more firewood split, leaves raked up, etc.. Team almost relocated to St. Louis but then Bob Kraft bought the team, hired Bill Parcells as HC and they drafted Drew Bledsoe. The once laughing stock of the NFL became respectable over the next few years...

My point is that it all starts at the top - ownership. If you want to run a team that makes money and is always mediocre or slightly less, that's your choice. But if you want to win consistently that takes a different mind set, commitment, and money...lots of it. Since the Patriots have won several super bowl titles lately there is a different feeling to most fans; we expect them to win and are somewhat stunned when they lose (especially to Rex Ryan..at home!). They have a new-ish stadium, Patriot Place is a great shopping, dining destination outside the stadium and Bob and Johnathan Kraft make more and more money each year. The crowd is actually relatively quiet and subdued during home games (Pete Carroll: Patriots fans are quiet "because they're so used to winning.") because of the consistent success. I love rooting for a winning team but also enjoy sharing the wealth in the NFL by seeing other teams rise up like Oakland, Dallas and Detroit. I don't know much about the Browns or Bengals' ownership but perhaps they could place a phone call to Bob Kraft in the off season...

The Steelers found a team with a defense worse than theirs and missing their starting QB.
People are talking about those two goal line stands from the Steeler defense, but Colt WR's also dropped three TD passes.
A win is a win, but it's not like the Steelers turned a corner or made a statement in that game. I suspect Eli lights up that secondary next week, and then some.
