NFL Week #13

Texans/Eagles for a Thursday night game! If Vick is on his game, Philly wins this handily. If not, or if the defense puts on a stellar performance like they did against the Titans, then they've got a shot. Of course, assuming Andre Johnson goes back to normal, calm, cool, collected self, and not throwing haymakers :p

If it's not too much trouble, would you ask your guys to beat the living snot out of the Eagles tonight?

Thanks in advance for your assistance ....

:D

As a side note, the Chiefs are charging the Lions? with Tampering. Please. I hope they have more then this, if not the league should give the Lions a couple of Chiefs draft picks. ;)

Cunningham made at least one public comment that could be constituted as tampering prior to this year’s free-agent signing period.

“(Kansas City) keeps wanting to dump their players. I would like to be there to catch a lot of them because I know a couple of those guys,” Cunningham told the Detroit Free Press in February.

The Lions didn’t sign any of Kansas City’s free agents. The only player currently on Detroit’s roster who played under Cunningham is backup defensive lineman Turk McBride. He was claimed off waivers in September 2009.

I suspect it's a desperate cry for help from a first place team no one cares about. Still, piling on the Lions as they get ready to start their third string QB this week is pretty low. If the Chiefs really want Gunther Cunningham back that bad we'd be more then willing to give him back. Although I'm sure our D would take a noise dive when we forgot all the fine tackling skills he taught us.

I saw this last night and thought it was really strange. KC charging Detroit? I get it when a bad team (i.e. Jets a few years back) charge a good team (the Pats) of spying or something, but picking on Detroit is just low.

Could be a bad day for the Steelers. Both starting tackles on I.R., and Ben has a small fracture in his foot. Ben with a bad wheel makes him a not-so-mobile Ben. I'm sure the Ravens are licking their chops.

Plus, I haven't heard one commentator (TV or radio) who's picking Pittsburgh. Clean sweep for the Ravens, at least from those I've heard make their predictions.

If the Ravens win this week, I think the AFC Championship game will feature the Ravens vs. the winner of the Jets/Patriots. Yeah, I know it's early; but that's my prediction. I think the Ravens are a much more complete team than a lot of people give them credit for. Everybody has talked about the Pats, Jets, and even the Steelers (at various points of the season) as being the class of the AFC; but the Ravens are pretty darn impressive. Flacco is coming into his own; the receiving corps is very good; running game is very good; and defense is very good. Scary team...

itll be interesting. if the afc east and north dont produce the wild cards, i will be absolutely shocked.

other than that, all i ask is that san diego stay consistent and not block anyone on kicks tomorrow.

All I ask is that the Raiders stay consistent and lose by somewhere between 16 and 32 points tomorrow. ;)

hehe... well, ill have to catch the lolights, because im sure the game wont be on tv around the bay.

all i have to say (to you and my stupid charger loving brother) is that at least we are supposed to have a bad record. hehe... just sayin...

kidding aside, this game could seriously decide the afc west. kc has SUCH a weak schedule, but so do oakland and sd. if its any consolation, id rather the raiders put in boller and barfed up a massive loss if itd get you in the playoffs over the chiefs.

while i'm skeptical that the steelers can pull it off, let's not forget that the ravens and the steelers went down to the wire earlier in the season with batch at the helm. the ravens were taken to OT by the bills, down to the wire, just like the steelers.

don't get me wrong - they're a monster team, but i don't see them locking down anything yet.

as for the commentators... don't get me started. lol.

Was 9-6 last week and 50-35 for the year.

Washington at NY Giants - New York Giants.

Chicago at Detroit - Chicago. Won't be as closr this time

San Francisco at Green Bay - Green Bay. Shouldn't even be close

Oakland at San Diego - San Diego

Atlanta at Tampa Bay - Atlanta

Dallas at Indianapolis - Indianapolis isn't playing well but it is Peyton Manning at home. Indianapolis

St Louis at Arizona - Though I want them to lose... St. Louis. Arizona is a mess

Buffalo at Minnesota - I want to take Buffalo but I think Minnesota is inspired and are at home. Minnesota

Cleveland at Miami - Miami. Mostly due to home field

Jacksonville at Tennessee - I'm not sure that I've voted for jacksonville all year so I'll try it here. Jacksonville

New Orleans at Cincinnatti - New Orleans

Denver at Kansas City - Kansas City

Carolina at Seattle - (My Team) Seahawks win. It's the Panthers...

Pittsburgh at Baltimore - I'm going with Baltimore

NY Jets at New England - The Jets have won a lot of games but haven't dominated in very many of them New England at home

Depending on which version of Jason Campbell shows up, Kyle Boller might be an upgrade.

no kidding... at least there should be a pretty darn good qb draft class this year, and enough teams that wouldnt burn a first rounder on a qb (enough defensive tackles coming out tot eat up a good chunk of the first round as well). perhaps a season ending streak of strategic losses could be a good move (but we will probably stick with the franchise policy of acquiring poor to mediocre to complete bust qbs).

alrighty... best of luck tomorrow, and if you see mr gates around town tell him to rest the foot injury; no need to play through something like that.

I know what you're saying. And I think the Steelers have a very good team as well. In a lot of ways, the Steelers and Ravens are very similar. But I'd like our chances a lot more if both of our lines weren't missing key players; and if Ben didn't have a broken foot.

I saw some footage today from when Brett Keisel and Aaron Smith were both healthy. They were both getting double-teamed a lot, which opened up the lanes for the linebackers. Conversely, Ziggy Hood and Nick Eason were being handled pretty well for the most part with one-on-one battles. That leaves other O-linemen free to pick up the blitz.

yeah. and our o-line has been exhibiting some signs of chronic LAME for the past few years now, imo, so that's not a help.

on a side note, i'm curious about something that i've wanted to ask my football-loving brethren on tb for a long time. where, stat-wise, is the o-line's performance usually recorded? i mean, i guess the performance of the offense itself is directly related to the ability of the offensive line, but surely there's something more directly relevant that's measured related to the o-line's performance. isn't there?

something that's bugged me for years.
