NFL Week #13

Forgot to get my picks in for the 1pm games so I'll just do it for the late games.

Raiders vs Chargers- Chargers
Dallas vs Indy - Dallas
Rams vs Cards - Az
Carolina vs Seattle - Seahawks
Atlanta vs Tampa - Tampa
Pitt vs Baltimore - Ravens
Jets vs Pats - Jets

on a side note, i'm curious about something that i've wanted to ask my football-loving brethren on tb for a long time. where, stat-wise, is the o-line's performance usually recorded? i mean, i guess the performance of the offense itself is directly related to the ability of the offensive line, but surely there's something more directly relevant that's measured related to the o-line's performance. isn't there?

something that's bugged me for years.

As far as I know, they record things like pancakes and sacks allowed. Other than that, I'm not so sure what or where they record for stats.

yeah- that and hurries, knock downs, maybe even tipped balls? i would think if youre on the o line and you dont lock your man up enough for him to throw a hand up, then you arent doing your job.

however, what about teams that play in divisions that love to blitz? you cant fault five linemen if the other team sends the whole house (maybe give the te or rb/fb some crap for it, but i still wouldnt expect some rbs to pick up a linebacker... not their fault they are 60lbs smaller).

Well, my Lions played well today. I really can't fault them for today, the Bears made the big plays when they had to. But, Why do the officials hate the Lions? There have been four or five penalties called on them this year that were huge in games that just weren't penalties. Today they called Suh for a forearm when he clearly hit Cutler with open hands on a run. Two weeks ago it was the horse collar when Suh grabbed a Dallas RB's hair (hair is considered part of the uniform). If I'm Jim Schwartz I'm taking one for the team and calling out the officials today. That call was ridiculous and a big momentum changer. And I'm more then willing to say the Bears played good enough to win anyway unlike week one when the NFL stole one from the Lions.

other than that, all i ask is that san diego stay consistent and not block anyone on kicks tomorrow.

okay, it wasnt exactly that, but THANK YOU san diego special teams! hahahahahahahahahaha. im sure my neighbors think im crazy. i yelled so ****ing loud. hehe...

EDIT: ok... i think ive figured it out. put a wide receiver in your backfield to run back kicks, because if i paid enough attention, i saw four kicks and three bobbles with one fumble. dont get me wrong, mighty mouse sproles scares the crap out of me when hes got the ball, but i think hes looking a bit too far down field.

DOUBLE EDIT: lol- never mind... i think mr mcclain took care of your return man problem.

This was actually one of my picks this week. I thought (and continue to think) that Jason Garrett is an excellent fit for this team. I think he will get the job next year and it will be really interesting to see the team after he gets "his guys" in place.

I'd keep most of the guys especially Pasqualoni. There only loss so far under Garrett was by 3 to the Saints.

:D

3rd and 20 Ryan to White.
Simply beautiful.

Props to TB for breaking our 4 games w/ no TOs. Exciting game.

Definite props to the Bucs. Though they lost their last 2 games, they did keep both of them very close and are beginning to convince me they have serious potential.

Cowboys got the win against Indy. I'd bet a lot of folks wouldn't have bet on that one.

I almost picked Dallas for this one because of their rushing game, but I let my strong disliking for them effect my judgement. Indy's D isn't that great against the rush and Dallas more than exploited it today.

The "omnipotent" Saints eeked out another win. They should proud of themselves! Haha!

Yeah, they beat the Bengals. This is the equivalent of Mike Tyson beating up a quadriplegic in a wheel chair and nothing to be proud of or brag about, especially when you take the final score into consideration.

I know you're being sarcastic, but I couldn't resist some Saints bashing.
