LIONS!!! YEAH!!!
I witnessed history today in the NFL. I prayed the Lions would make it down the road to XVI (16, as in 0-16)
I live near Pittsburgh, so I'm glad the Steelers won, but Ben should not have played today at all, this game meant nothing.
Also, GO DOLPHINS! Last years laughing stock make the playoffs this year. Its why I love the NFL. Maybe it will be the Lions next year...

I'm a Colts fan, and typically I'd be very happy about the Pats missing the playoffs.
That being said, I think it sucks that an 11-5 Pats team will be sitting at home and an 8-8 Chargers will be playing next week.

You act surprised by this. I am very glad to see that the Bucs now have another team in the record book as being winless.
4 consecutive losses all due to the defense. UGH and I know at least 2 of them the Bucs had the damn lead. Puta Bucs!
Farve is worthless someone in 'Jersey needs to fit him with some cement shoes. this is the second time the Pats had a playoff berth blown by that pile of crap

i agree - not really an nfc guy, but as an atlantan i still vividly remember the radio pundits talking about how the falcons were gonna have a hard time winning any games this year. i'm really glad they have recovered from the vick fiasco so well - sucks that a whole team should have been made to pay for one guy's lameness.
Ah, what an excellent Sunday! The Dolphins cap an amazing turnaround season by getting into the playoffs (I would have been ecstatic if they'd gone even 8-8) and knock out BOTH the Jets and Pats in the process. Plus, the Cowboys get reamed in a must-win game. Schweeeeeeeet!

Well, the one thing I did not want to happen today happened. Someone got hurt. I'm pretty sure Ben will be in the starting lineup for our first playoff game. Heck, the doctors pronounced him fit to play in far less meaningful games after his other concussions.
At this point, I am beginning to seriously worry for the overall health of Ben and his career. He came within a minute of losing his life in the motorcycle accident in the summer of 2006, at least one concussion I can remember in the Falcons game in 2006, got banged around plenty in 2007, and now again in 2008. This isn't even considering some of the brutal hits he walked away from supposedly unscathed.
But hey....it's all good. We put another beatdown on the Browns, and with that completed a sweep of our division.

Thinking about it now, I wonder if that really has been a factor? He sure looks fresh and in complete control of everything right now. I guess we will see in the playoffs!
One more note on the Colts' season. They talk about how bad the Colts running game is but we didn't do that bad. Rhodes and Addai combined for 1082 yards. That is enough of a running game to win a SB.
So I guess the Browns courtship of Bill Cowher will start sometime tomorrow. If they come after him with $8 or $9 million per year and a GM or GM type role, it will be very interesting to see how much of his loyalty still rests in Pittsburgh.
