has already dissected the film from the Jets game as of
5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Guy must sleep on his desk
or something.

Pats will come to play. I don't think this is going to be any
walk in the park, but Brady has a way of pulling games like
this totally out of his @@@ when the going gets tough.

I predict Pats by a touchdown, 28 - 21 and they
cover. :hiding:

But, did you notice McNabb's stats? The Philly offense wasn't so great last week. If Philly is smart, they'll use Westbrook more, (the reason that they tend to be so successful without McNabb). This will keep the ball away from Moleman. Who knows with Reid though. I don't expect Philly's D to come out as fired up. I do think that a good return by ex-Mr. Kardashian can make a huge difference for N'awlins, but D. Jackson on the other side is very dangeous too. I like N'awlins in this game, on the road. They'll start hot this season.

#1 Delhomme saw more turf than the Cougars groundskeepers that day but that was because the D line was on whoever played QB azz the entire afternoon and shut down the rushing game too. And 4 picks ? Brown and Samuels one of the best CB tandems in the game. And even with the absence of Shawn Andrews Julius Peppers had 2 standout plays all afternoon.
#2 McNabbs stats accrued to 38 pts...Re-signing Jeff Garcia was a good move too because he is more effective with Reids west coast offense than A.J. Feely is. The Birds are in good shape for this game IMO...D Mac's not officially out yet

Feely isn't on the Iggles roster, the 2nd stringer is Kolb.

They aren't playing Carolina, don't forget that. ;)

Brown & Samuels LOOKED good last week, yes. But let's give credit where it is due - that was more how BADLY Delhomme was playing than anything else. You really think they're gonna look that good against Brees, Colston, Moore, Henderson, Meacham, and Shockey?

Brown and Samuels looked good because the Birds D line outplayed the Cougars O line and Delhomme and his replacement had to get rid of it quick (and/or) take a sack...and they only beat Detroit while giving up 27 pts. to a winless team from last season

Ah yes, someone else that didn't watch the game...heh...

...first off, the Lions, while they are not great, are also not the same sad-sack bunch that lost every game last year. Secondly, the Saints D gave up 13 points, the other 14 were from a lucky fumble recovery and an 87 yard kickoff return. Yeah, the Saints need to get their act together on special teams, and Mike Bell needs to hold onto the frickin' ball, but those are issues that can and will be addressed quickly...

But you just keep thinking they suck on defense, please....and keep thinking that their offensive line is as useless as the Carolina offensive line....and that Brees is as hopeless as Delhomme, just keep thinkin' it...I hope the Eagles do that too...because if they do...

It's also not like Detroit's offense was terrible last year either. They averaged 16.8 PPG. It's near the bottom, but better than several other teams. The problem was that their defense gave up 32.3 PPG, dead last in the NFL in 2008.

Correction, the Colts had a problem stopping the run. One game isn't enough to know for sure but I feel encouraged by Week 1. Considering your Jags always rushed for 200+ yards on the Colts in past meetings but did not do so this time, I think the Colts run D has stepped up a few notches since last season. Plus, they don't even have Bob Sanders back yet! Yeah, I feel pretty good about the D right now.

The only reason that game was as close as it ended up was because of mistakes and not due to lack of O performance by the Colts. Also, I'm sure the O will look even more precise this week. Colts for the win.

Colts 27 - Miami 13

Now, quit praying for the Colts to go down as the Jags have no chance for the division title. ;)

TWO THINGS:

1) It isn't that the Colt run D got better at all. It's that the Jags O line is still young and getting in the groove. Mojo is already all that and a bag of chips. The Jags normally would run roughshod all over everybody because of a strong O line, and TWO badass backs. Now we have a young line and only ONE badass back who can't stay as fresh without Freddy to spell him.

2) The Jags have little chance of a title, sure. The Colts also have little chance. The Titans are gonna take the division again this year. Did you see how hard they played the Steelers? They keep that up and the AFC south has a new lord and master for many years to come.

And yes, the clots are on the decline.

Gard's analysis of the Pats-Bills game was spot on; but not the implication for Pats-Jets.

The Pats offense was obviously rusty in the 1st half and it was just getting warmed up in the 4th quarter. A better start and the Pats get out in front and stay out in front in a high scoring game.

I suspect Belichek spent more time dissecting the Bills game so that the Pats can figure out what didn't work and why and what did work and why.
