NFL Week #3

TURD, is the kool-aid in a little dixie cup or do you have one of those 24 oz. tumblers? Wow, two weeks, two games, and the aints are in the Super Bowl scoring 41 points. Is this how TURD's conversations with friends look?:

[sub Chicago accent for Louisiana accent):

TURD: So, uh, who's gonna win this week: the aints or whomever they're playing.

Friend 1: aints

Friend 2: aints

Friend 3: aints

TURD: Well, uh, how 'bout, aints vs. the 85 Bears.

Friend 1: aints would score 80 on 'em.

TURD: They'd score 81.

Friend 3: Bears wouldn't score.

TURD: If they did it would be luck.

Friend 1: Brees v. Montana, Unitas, and Brady combined

All in unison: Brees!

TURD: How 'bout Brees v. God

Unison: Brees!

TURD: How about the aint's offense versus 12 tractors, 16 semi trucks, 10 actual bears, 45 lions, 10 pythons, and a rhino?

Unison: aints!

TURD: aints would scoe 500 points, on every play.

-----------------

Although, as I read that, I see how highly illogical it is to think that TURD has 3 friends. :D

There are only two safeties in the NFL that dramatically change their teams' defense and they are Troy and Bob Sanders. Ed Reed at his best is a game changer with his ballhawking but not the lynchpin to the Ravens D that those two are to the Steelers and Colts respectively. And their value is underscored even more by neither having a very good backup.

I agree with this (although I would probably put Reed in the same category). Don't discount the value that one player can have to the team. Troy is simply one of those players. He completely changes the dynamic of the defense.

ROFL!!!

That was classic, I doff my chapeau in your general direction, sir.

At least you meant to be funny, unlike your team's QB Sunday night.

:)

I'll try:

Vikes kill niners
Cowboys win
Cards aren't as good as people think -Colts win by 14
Cutler shreds Seattle
Tennessee wins with D
Texans win again
Eagles squeak by the Chefs
Steelers win because they're good and the Bengals suck.
Who can't beat Cleveland?
Giants show the Bucks why you can't replace Gruden with a nobody
Redskins win a boring and ugly game
Rams can't win
Patriots get dropped again and I'm lovin' it!
Buffalo can't keep pace with the Brees
Miami wins but I'm not sure it's an upset . . .
I never, ever pick against my Raiders -plus the ponies suck.

Not very good last week, 8-8. So for the season I'm 20-12. Let's see if I can do better this week.

San Francisco at Minnesota - Well, both teams have started out quite well. Everybody is talking about the two running games. If it's that simple, Peterson is better than Gore. But, SF's defense is playing very well. Although I do like Shaun Hill better than Favre, for this game I like Minnesota at home.

Tennessee at NY Jets -So the Jets defense is playing very well, and everybody is talking about how great the Jets defense will be. Well, let's give people some time to look at tape and learn more about the Jets defense before we say too much about the Jets. But, they are playing quite well. Tennessee didn't look great last week. I'm going to think that the Jets continue their strong play, but I do believe that Sanchez will have it harder than he's had it so far.

NY Giants at Tampa Bay - The Giants should win.
Jacksonville at Houston - This game is a little harder to know much about, as I haven't seen either of these teams play or do I know much about them. I think that Houston should win. I like their defense, it should be better than they've been playing so far. And then, of course, you've got Andre Johnson.

Cleveland at Baltimore - This game breaks my heart a little. The new, real, Cleveland team against the bastardized version that went on to be more successful. Sucks. Baltimore should win.

Green Bay at St. Louis - If Green Bay doesn't win this game, I would be concerned cheeseheads.

Washington at Detroit - So a lot of people are really into Detroit finally getting a win. I can see that. The Washington defense is playing well, which is good for them. That offense doesn't look so good. At home, I think Detroit will win. Then I predict that TURD will point to the fact that Detroit has won a game, which would then, for him, mean that Detroit isn't a horrible, horrible, horrible team, which would then, for him, mean that because the aints beat them in week one, the aints have now been undeniably confirmed as the greatest football team to every grace the field with their presence.

Kansas City at Philadelphia - Philadelphia. There will be a circus around Vick. It's too bad Vick is playing and not, oh I don't know, in jail and therapy, but whatever.

Atlanta at New England - A friend of mine says "I'm not worried about the NFC." He's a Patriots fan. I think that Atlanta can win.

Chicago at Seattle - Chicago should win.

New Orleans at Buffalo - I think that New Orleans will continue their hot streak and win.

Denver at Oakland - Grudge match. I like Oakland, although they're best suited to run run run run run. Denver's defense is improving and if Russell needs to lead Oakland to a win, Oakland is in trouble.

Miami at San Diego - I like the Miami coaching staff so much, that when a matchup is pretty equal, I think the coaching might help lead you to the winner. I think Miami will win.

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati - Hmmmm. Could go either way. How 'bout Pittsburgh.

Indianapolis at Arizona - This could be a good game. I just can't bet against Indianapolis for whatever reason.

Carolina at Dallas - Dallas wins.

Denver @ Oakland - Denver is not as good as their record. Oakland is. Denver in a squeaker. Denver 21 Oakland 20

Interesting. It must be luck then.

At least after getting the first two games wrong, you've come around.

Anything is possible in the Black Hole, and Denver has almost as much trouble there as Arrowhead, but I think the Bronco's 3-4 defense is for real. Only allowed 13 points in two games.

It must be luck.

Umm...is this a prediction? You like Oakland but...Oakland is in trouble.

Interesting.

I think I just mean to say that Oakland's running game can help them win games, as long as they commit to it. When they need Russell to throw 30 times, (hell, even 5 times), it doesn't bode well. Although Denver's D is quite good, I think that Oakland can run the ball enough, (assuming that they maintain disciplined in that regard), to win this game.
