Pittsburgh (because they're home), might squeak out a tight win. You KNOW Baltimore is going to emulate Philadelphia's success in attacking that porous O-line. Tomlin is going to have to make some serious adjustments to patch up some ridiculous leaks if he wants to get out of Monday night intact, with Ben not in the friggin' hospital!!! :scowl:

Oh come on, you can't be serious. Did you watch the game tonight? He spent half the plays standing around looking for someone to block. The same thing he did for us last year. The dude is so full of himself now, it make me sick.

He has this whole "I'm Alan Faneca, let me see who I want to block on this play while I tell everyone else what to do. Heck, maybe I'll just stand here and shuffle my feet and push a d-lineman in the shoulder as he runs by me". :rollno:

I know our line is the worst part of our team right now, but it is no worse than last year when Faneca was a part of it. I truly miss Hartings more, he went down fighting. Faneca scampered out of town after Mr. Rooney hurt his huge ego.

This is why the Stillers vs. "Ratbirds" game is going to be a pick em.

Raven's defense will keep them in alot of games this year even with a rookie quarterback.

I didn't watch the game. Had too much stuff going on.

The line looks to be MUCH more porous this year than last... Most everyone else is the same. Joey Porter hasn't looked *great* in Miami, but I know I wish he was still with us. I think you would too! :)

The only games you get to see are SNF (Monday at lunchtime) and MNF (Tuesday at lunch, replayed Tuesday evening) Everything else is on at 1am and 4am.

Then, overseas, the great QBs get injured during the first game and don't come back for the whole season!


I'm glad that doesn't happen in the real NFL....:bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl:

Man... And I thought I had it rough trying to adjust to games coming on 2 hours earlier. EST, Sunday games start at 1:00. Here, they start at 11. Makes cracking a beer at kickoff feel dirty!

MNF comes on at 6:30 as opposed to 8:30. I just hate that! I get home from work around 5:30, and have just an hour before football. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but my OCD has kicked in! :atoz:

Regarding Brady... Don't fret, if Pittsburgh's O-line continues the way they are, Roethlisberger will be joining Brady in rehab! :mad:

Yeah, but we only gave up two sacks in each of the first two games, and Willie broke out for 100+ yards rushing in both. I know they looked terrible Sunday, and I'm still upset about it too, but it isn't all that bad. You can go back and pin some of those sacks on Arians and Tomlin for some shady play calling as well.

As for Joey.....our young LB's are quickly making me forget all about J-Peezy. If I had to pick between Porter or Harrison right now, I am taking Harrison every time. I'll say the same about Timmons in another year. Joey was great for us, but he was not playing anywhere near the level he once was and certainly did not deserve the kind of coin he wanted after how poorly he played in '06. He got his SB ring, and mailed it in for '06.

You know how it is in Pittsburgh, we are used to seeing guys leave when they are still good. Sure, I was sad when Joey and Alan left, but I also knew the reality of why they left. Sometimes I question the departures, but the Rooney's have piled up five SB trophies doing it their way. So far, I don't have any. So I have to say they know better than I do. :D

Checking in a little late this week ......

The Superbowl Champion New York Football Giants have a bye this week. A little early in the season, but hopefully they can get some stuff straightened out .... that win over the Bengals was a bit too close for comfort :hmm:

Pittsburgh could have their hands full this week against Baltimore. The Ravens can get some pressure going, so the Steelers O-line better hold up this week. This is the first road game for Baltimore after two home games against weaker teams (Cincy & Cleveland) and I hope the Steelers crowd gets into it early and loud. I think the Steelers can put up some points and the D should be strong ..... Steelers 21, Ravens 10

The magic of Favre(Farve?) is starting to fade in NY with the NY media now talking about his risky passes and mis-reads with an offensive scheme he's not familiar with .... not to mention the Jets own inherent ability to self-destruct when a little strife hits the team. Arizona has beaten the Niners and Miami, but lost to Washington .... three teams in disarray that the Cards should have dominated if they were the real deal. Overall, probably a toss-up in my mind, but the Jets need to win this or else they will be on a downward spiral for the rest of the season. If the Jets go into the bye week 1-3, all the blame will fall on Favre(Farve?) for not getting control of the team. Jets 17, Cards 14

ESPN.com is reporting that Matt Millen is no longer the GM/President of the Lions. They don't know if he was fired or resigned. In this world of who can get the news out first, I guess you can't wait for the full story anymore before you report something. Instead of waiting for the full story, ESPN puts out some of the facts along with speculation. I don't get that approach myself. But oh well.

I wonder if the Lions will have to put an ad on the local craigslist to find a replacement? :D
