NHL 2013 post season thread!

Ziltoid... watch the video and pay attention.

Link Removed

There is no charging there at all. And the damage to Eller came from faceplanting on the ice after getting knocked the **** out. :D Keep your head up, kids.
Subban should be talked to about leaving his feet.
Brown should get a bunch of games for that crap.
And, there are a bunch of refs from last night that should be talked to as well.

Your attitude aside, it's funny you linked to the ref I despise the most. And you can tell he came all the way from Australia in that video, that's charging.

Hockey's a tough sport. Players get hurt during play. They get paid damn well to face those risks. It's also entertainment. Just like MMA. The injury wasn't intentional. One of the first things you are taught in hockey is to keep your head up.
Maybe you two should watch a non contact sport if it upsets your feminine sensibilities.

I never said I wanted to see a player get injured... That is you putting words in my mouth.
I am not averse to seeing physical hockey, and players giving/taking hits. Sometimes players get hammered hard, and in fair play... as what occurred in this incident. That is entertainment. Not the injury.
Despite the poor call by the refs, and further dropping of the ball by the NHL for handing out a suspension for good ol' playoff hockey.

I disagree with Ziltoid in that I do not think it was a dirty or illegal hit. However, I disagree with a couple things that Schlyder has said.

First of all, as Strat said earlier, there is nothing funny about somebody getting badly hurt, be it via a clean OR dirty hit. I feel that the big smiley face in conjunction with your "...knocked the #### out..." comment was unnecessary.

Secondly, one good thing about these NHL threads is that for the most part, people can disagree without resorting to name-calling and general disrespect. Your (Schlyder's) comment to Ziltoid and (I assume) Strat Mangler was clearly disrespectful. ("Maybe you two should watch a non contact sport if it upsets your feminine sensibilities.") You can agree to disagree, but that kind of garbage is unnecessary in my opinion.

Your attitude sucks, plain & simple. I'm respectfully asking you to change it or to keep these comments to yourself.

Making light of somebody experiencing a concussion, facial and dental fractures, whom his family witnessed live is uncalled for, gratuitous, and unwelcomed.

The smiley was for "Keep your head up". I only gave back after I was jumped on for my "attitude".
Not the way it happened. Let's review. You barge in here and post this crap ;

Ziltoid... watch the video and pay attention. (...) There is no charging there at all. And the damage to Eller came from faceplanting on the ice after getting knocked the **** out. :D Keep your head up, kids.
So the very first thing you said to anybody was already with attitude. The other comment is shameful as it's making fun of a clearly gravely injured PERSON.

Next up is the most "offensive" part of Ziltoid's reply.

Your attitude aside (...)
Ouch. That "vicious" remark surely was worthy of your follow-up.

Maybe you two should watch a non contact sport if it upsets your feminine sensibilities.
And you're saying you *don't* have an attitude? AND you lie about the chronology of events. So far, you've shown to be HIGHLY disrespectful, inconsiderate, and have been proven a liar. Nice start to your participation in this thread.

Please don't try to rewrite history when it's painfully easy to demonstrate that you (not I or Ziltoid or anybody else) is at fault. You initiated a conversation with your abrasive and obnoxious tone. Change it if you want to get some respect back.

It's that simple.

Here's a funny well of info I found.

TSN's (Canada's answer to ESPN) predictions before the season started.

==========================================================

The panel, which included TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, as well as analysts Ray Ferraro and Aaron Ward.

The Ottawa Senators were picked as the only Canadian team to make the playoffs in the East.

The Montreal Canadiens were predicted to finish the season in 12th place, with the Toronto Maple Leafs projected to place 13th and the Winnipeg Jets finishing in 14th place.

The Tampa Bay Lightning were tabbed as the team that could surprise hockey fans in the East.

McKenzie said he felt everybody in the Eastern Conference playoff picture could surprise people and not make the post-season. He did, however, exclude what he believes are the elite four teams in the east: the Rangers, Penguins, Bruins and Flyers.
Ferraro and McKenzie leaned on the Oilers to be the team to raise eyebrows in the west.

And for the blind squirrel finding an acorn award... The Minnesota Wild were forecast to make it back into the Western Conference playoffs.

Yeah they are. About 10 minutes of intense hockey, then a big drop off. Niskanen got his butt kicked, and it's been the Islanders ever since.

Other than that, how are you enjoying the game with your buddies? It's just me and the dog on the couch at my house.
