NHL 2013 regular season thread!

I just checked the schedule - the Pens are coming to Boston on April 19 - the cheapest ticket available on StubHub is $152 - by comparison two nights later Florida is in town and the cheapest ticket is $20. Montreal is starting to take the B's for granted - tickets at the Forum for the game on April 6 are only $100 - love us or hate us, just don't ignore us - that is what really hurts. ;)

I'm not sure if Iginla has broken any hearts in his personal life, but he's going to find out what it is like to play hockey in front of 17,000+ jilted exes. I anticipate that it will make the reception that Lucic gets in Buffalo or Chara in Montreal and Ottawa seem like a love fest. That will be a playoff atmosphere.

Oh, that's WITHOUT Horton! Salary cap is going down 6 million next year.

So you don't have Horton, you get St. Louis (let's assume), and you need to sign 3 players with zero cap room wiggle room. That's why I'm saying it's impossible unless they do major salary dumps.

Maybe if they can find somebody dumb enough to take Lucic's contract. That guy is NOT worth 6 million/year.

Kadri has been on fire all season-long.

And it's "Lupul." The only player I know whose name is a palindrome. lol!

I think the shortened season has something to do with it - it sort of exaggerates the effects of a bad stretch since there is little time to recover. Not to take away anything from the teams that are doing well, since the conditions are the same for everyone, but just to note that the conditions are different from last year. Both teams have dropped 8 spots - that is a lot in one season.
