The OT change to 7 minutes with a drop to 3 on 3 at the first stoppage after 4:00 is one I have mixed feelings on. It still screams gimmick, but if it means less shootouts, I guess I can live with it.

Anything that does away with more of the shootouts I'm all behind!!!

I found an interesting article about the NHL salary cap. The article is from a Pens fan website and only discusses the Pens, but it's still interesting to review those numbers and see that what happens in Pittsburgh every year with free agency is the norm for how this team is structured: Invalid Link Removed.

To continue the thought on Guerin, maybe he is being groomed to take over for Rutherford. That would be sweet.

Lee Stempniak leaves Pittsburgh, and signs with the Rangers. I wonder if the Pens have any listings on the Pittsburgh craigslist for players to fill the roster this season.

Offseason is slowly losing steam unless something like Kovie resigns with New Jersey or something or if Luongo wants back in Vancouver, which are unlikely.

I think the biggest deals this year have to be Kesler to ANA, Gaborik staying with LA, Stastny to STL, Miller to VAN, and Iginla to COL....just my opinion
