Interestingly, the Pens have two guys with last names that start out Shea, but you don't pronounce it like you'd think.
As for Sheahan, I think Rutherford got worked on that one. Holland is probably still laughing.
I sure wish @TheXym was still around to share his thoughts on the deal, or @burk48237.

Let's put it this way the Red Wings are BAD, but they will not miss Riley Sheehan. The local Sports Talk station had a game without goals in a row clock for Sheehan. 100 shots w/o a goal in the 16-17 season.

The Pens are a mess. Sure the schedule isn't helping, but come on already.
I wasted a lot of money and time of my life Saturday night on the Pens.
That's it. I'm done. I'll just watch on TV now and then, and catch highlights.

Edit: I forgot to add that goals #3 (the game winner) and #4 (the game sealer) were...wait for it....glove side high on Murray.

Having NHL Center Ice allows me to watch a boatload of games every week, and over the past few years there have been a few teams that I normally wouldn't think twice about, but have caught my eye as just fun to watch.

A couple of years ago it was the Florida Panthers as they came together as a hungry young team and had a chance to win most nights. Last year Calgary and Toronto became exciting teams to watch. This year, so far, the Devils and Avalanche have found a place in my schedule. I always like seeing teams turn the corner and start to gel, whether it be from new players or a new coach.

Which is why I'm kind of bummed to see Duchene go. It seemed like he was re-enthused about being there this season (winning will do that), but with the trade it seems to me that their impressive start has now been tempered back down to rebuild mode again. Time will tell if Sakic did the right thing but IMO the 'lanche will revert to being a bottom feeder again this year.

And that’s probably ok with them, with 6 draft picks in the first 3 rounds.

Duchene came to play this year, but his heart wasn’t in it, and a couple interviews I saw with other players after ththat game, they all basically said “he didn’t want to be here, and we’re glad everyone here now has the same direction”

Which translates into another 2-4 yrs for most of them to develop into NHLers. Not too many players beyond the top handful of first-rounders are good enough to jump into the NHL immediately after being drafted. Most need a couple seasons in college, juniors, or the minors.

The prospects they received (Girard, Bowers, Kamenev) will possibly contribute sooner, if not right away, but draft picks are never a guarantee.

I was excited for the Sens this year to go 'till the end , this trade confirms my choice !
Turris wasn't a bad player but Dechesne is a notch over him.

They also got rid of a couple of good round pick but they are very well "garnished" with young prospects.
Their draft team has done an incredible job over the last years.

I just hope that the rumor of attitude was not true or was just because of playing in a loosing environment for all those years.

All true things.

My disappointment with him started Roy’s first year. Colorado made the playoffs that year. Dueshene whined the entire series.

Maybe he’s grown up some
