NHL Regular Season 2017-18

I just think you're focusing on the negative aspects of his game too much. I think the guy has proven himself pretty convincingly over the past 2 years.

How can you ignore it?
Before I go on, I'm a Pens fan just like you are. I was born in Altoona, PA, grew up with the Pens.
This has been an issue with Murray since day one in the NHL. Either he can't fix it or maybe he is just focusing on the positive things he does and concedes that going glove side high will always work on him.

As to his success, yes there is no arguing that.
However, this is the first season he is playing where he is the #1 goalie with no legitimate backup behind him, and he got paid.
We're going to find out just how good he is without one of the best goalies in franchise history pushing him and with his wallet fat.

Andersen on the Leafs had a really poor high glove to start last year. He worked it out by the end of the year. Mind you, last game notwithstanding, he’s been pretty leaky this year. If it wasn’t for our offensive talents, we’d be in bad shape.

Give him time, he’s young for a starting goalie, and there’s a lot of pressure on him. He’ll come around.

Heck, career wise, he’s 47-12-6 lifetime with a .922 save percentage. And 6-0-1 this year, not sure what else you can ask for?

Just one thing.....one. Stop with the glove side high goals. Or how about stopping half of them at least?
As for stats, Murray is in the bottom half of stats for GAA and save percentage so far this season.
For a man with two SC rings, I don't think there is any room for waiting for him to develop or come around.
Or rather, I suppose I should just ignore all of this and be happy he is 6-0-1.
When game seven comes around with the Caps or Lightning in the playoffs, I'll just have to hope he figures it out.

As much as I despise them, the Senators are looking DANGEROUS this year.

However, since I have been anti-PenGoon since time immemorial, it seems that my personal animosity towards a team has little influence on their place in the standings.

Now, if I happen to LIKE a team, it seems there is an equal and opposite effect.

Go Rangers-Leafs-Canucks-Flames!

Kesselllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!
Career goal #300 comes after a block then he outsprints Laine for the breakaway OT winner five hole.
I never thought Kessel, who is 30, was going to outskate Laine, who is 19.
Two games, two OT winners for Kessel. As Bob Errey said, he knows how to put away games.
2-1 OT hockey is some of my favorite. Love it!!

The Flyers are getting whooped, so it's a good night for this NHL fan.

Flyers made a game of it. Stormed back, but lost 5-4. Had two goals disallowed. One because a Flyer was in the crease. (Not when it went in, but right before.) Then the second one was a clear goal late (which would have tied it). But the ref said he had blown the play dead.

Kessel definitely showed more speed than I thought he had with that breakaway.

Now if he'd only use that speed while backchecking once in a while! :banghead: (First though, he needs to be taught what backchecking is...it's always been a foreign concept to the guy)

Haven't read much predictions from you guys
Who do you think will drink in the cup ?
After 10 games , we have a better idea.
Let's pick one from the East and one from the West

I personaly like the Sens chances and I'll go with them.
They won't finish first , maybe in the middle of the pack but they can play a mean , well organized defense system with a very good blue line.

The only thing that worries me is their tendency to lift the foot in the third (like we saw yesterday against the Flyers)

I like St-Louis chances in the West......

The Flyers won it - the box score disagrees.

The Flyers were in Sen territory all game seemingly and flying around, still the game was crashed to a halt which killed momentum time after time by refs with indecision and focal issues.

Meh. Not often I gripe about refs but c'mon man.

The final I would like to see : RANGERS vs. FLAMES

What will probably happen: LIGHTNING vs. BLUES

PS: I wouldn't mind seeing LEAFS vs. GOLDEN KNIGHTS... imagine the TV ratings!

The Flyers continue to confound me. I dig the win but the roller coaster nature of this squad is gonna drive me to... well, I don’t drink but if I did . . .
Yeah, I'll take the win. But it looks like Gostisbehere sustained a concussion when he was smashed into the boards by Leo Komarov. Looked like boarding to me, but no penalty was called. That's not gonna' help if he's out for any length of time...
