Throw Pacioretty in the deal and we'll include Maatta. We'd still need a decent draft pick, too.
Oh wow. Sullivan was hoping he'd clear waivers and get some time in the AHL to recover his form.
McDavid/Crosby showdown tonight. I remember McDavid skating circles around the Pens last season, but the Pens won both games.
Sheahan makes his debut as the #3 center tonight.

Since it was the Penguins who injured Luongo, maybe Tallon is getting his mild revenge by taking Niemi! We'll see who gets the last laugh.

Note: I live nowhere near PIT, so going to a game and a game where DeSmith starts is mostly impossible.

Looking good but as a 48year old leaf fan, I never get too excited about this team.
Just grabbed tickets to the Nov 10 HHoF induction game vs. Boston which is super cool. First game with my wife in over 20 years as my 20/22yo boys always seem to wiggle their way into at least one of the tickets!
After watching Murray get beat glove side high for the 999th time, I turned the game off in frustration.
Little did I know Kessel would save Murray and the Pens in OT.
Not quite the McDavid/Crosby showdown people were expecting, but the results were the same as always....Pens win.
I watched Nashville dominate Calgary for a couple periods, so I was surprised to see the Flames pulled it out in a shootout. Yay Flames!
What the heck Vegas? Put anyone between the pipes and they win. Very cool to see them off to this fast start. I think they are for real.

Quite an ending to the Sens/Kings game. Sens up 2-1, but with two minutes left Ottawa goalie Condon mishandles the puck behind his net and hands it right to Kempe, who exhibiting poise beyond his years, puts the puck in the net. That Kempe kid is a stud.
Then after a scoreless OT dominated by Ottawa, guess who seals it with the shootout winner...that's right, Adrian Kempe. Smooooth!

Murray was freakin incredible, especially in the 2nd period. He got beat by McDavid once and you give up on them? Have you not seen this team in the last 2 years?
The Flyers looked like crap. Sloppy play and a goose egg on power plays. Bleh. Patrick was looking decent until getting his dome rattled. Looks like a concussion. MacDonald being out seemed to throw a monkey wrench into the team. They need to fix it.

. Murray's weakspot has always been glove side high. If teams focus shots there, they'll go through fairly regularly. He never seems to improve on that which is frustrating, especially when a single goal decides many matches. Otherwise, yeah, Murray played well, but more importantly the entire team played well, especially the D-men.

I agree, but I dont get being that frustrated with him considering how good he was for the rest of the game. If you only give up one against McDavid I think you're probably doing pretty good.
Agree on all counts. A very forgettable game. They've been playing pretty well lately, so maybe this mess of a game will get them back on track. How many good chances did Jordan Weal have?!! And Travis Konecny with an awful giveaway. Jake Voracek is getting his assists, but is still goal-less. Talk about snake-bit!! Anaheim definitely has their number...
I'm tired of it. Glove side high is practically a guaranteed goal against Murray. If it had just been this one game, sure a bit of an overreaction. But no, this is two years running now.
It's going to be all the more glaring and problematic now that the Pens have no goalie to back Murray up. OK, technically they do, but I think you know what I mean.
He played spectacular most of the night, the team got him a lead late. Down the ice comes McDavid and he knew as long as his aim was true he had the goal glove side high on Murray.
The Pens have set the bar high for themselves and fans. Pretty good isn't good enough.

I just think you're focusing on the negative aspects of his game too much. I think the guy has proven himself pretty convincingly over the past 2 years.

I think Murray rode the coattails of Fleury for the past two years.
The issue with his negative is, it's always there. Has been since day one, and he hasn't improved that aspect of his tending. His positioning has been better, a bit. For as nice as a save as that stick save was, the goal from McDavid should've been a fairly routine stop that got through on his well-known weakness.

I disagree, he wins most of the games he starts and he certainly came through for them in the playoffs. Both him and Fleury missed a considerable number of games due to injury over the past 2 years also.
