NHL.tv free game of the week for me. Flyers v Panthers. The Flyers swept them last year. Probably a 50/50 game.

Yeah, he really s*cks. There are only about 30 other NHL teams who would love to have him.As a Habs fan, I feel like I am living in the Twilight zone. Price is and always has been a mediocre player who has no heart. He won one Olympic medal with the best hockey team ever assembled. I could have played nets for that team and won the Gold. Yet he is now "THE BEST IN THE WORLD"!!!
There is no such thing. All goaltenders have good games, and bad games.
I don't understand how this happened.
The NHL has changed to a faster, more skilled game. The last all star game before the new format was something like 16-15.
So what does the idiot GM do? Make a crappy goalie the highest paid player on the team. Its gonna be the Scott Gomez thing all over again. In two or three years we won't be able to trade him for a bag of used pucks with that ridiculous contract.
Oh well, maybe in 8 years I can start hoping again.
What did he do? (I was watching the Flyers/Panthers.)Nice goal from Crosby, but it was because of his immature antics on the ice that put the Pens in the position where they needed that goal.
I like the Pens, and have been a fan of Crosby for a long time, but tonight there is no excuse for his behavior on the ice.

He had his normal moments of awesome... especially that goal that tied things up.What did he do? (I was watching the Flyers/Panthers.)

Look at your clubs record over the past few years when he has been hurt. Goaltending is the least of the Habs problems.Maybe 5 years ago, but the way the game has changed, and his ridiculous contract, that number would be closer to zero.
If he is the "Best", how come he has only one Vezina? Even Bobrovsky has 2.
Martin Bordeur has 5, and Hasek has 6.
Price is a heartless mediocre who has the occasional good game.
His playoff numbers are very underwhelming.

But... he was also playing very dirty at times. I'd have to look, but there was at least a double minor and another minor later against him -- high stick (to the face), then slashing. It was pretty ugly, even for Crosby standards.
Thanks. I'll have to look for some highlights. He's a great player, but has always been something of a slasher. The slashes are what got to me. I can forgive a highstick as those sometimes are genuinely an accident.

He has done a great job so far, and has had help/backing from Shanny and Lou. Quite the management team.A couple years ago on another forum one person was calling Babcock a coward for not staying in Detroit through the tough times. I disagreed with him, saying that him taking on a terrible Leafs team in complete disarray was one of the bravest things anyone is sports could have done, especially under the microscope of Toronto. Babcock could have easily stayed where he was comfortable, had a great reputation, had won everything, etc. But no, he chose an entirely new challenge, and props to him. I honestly did not think he'd turn that dysfunctional team around at all, let alone do it so quickly. You likely won't be hearing the infamous GolfLeafsGolf chant in April anytime in the near future!
A few years ago I was hoping Babcock would have accepted the Penguins HC position, thinking that he and Crosby would make a great team. (Didn't happen but I can't say I'm disappointed with the way things turned out under Sullivan in the 'burgh!)
