NHL Regular Season 2017-18

Oilers showing signs of life, 2/3 on the road in dominant fashion 6-2,7-2, and looked as good as you can losing 1-0 to the laffs. Power play starting to score, and getting depth scoring. Nuge having a nice bounce back year so far. Pulijaarvi coming on strong.
Talbot expected back this week, if he can get some mojo back....
Also Sekara back by end of the month.
It’s a steep high hill, but we haven’t given up on the playoffs yet. And if they should happen to make it, one would think they’d have to have serious momentum on their side going in.

Whoa, what a stink bomb last nights game was. I had to turn it off before the 10min. mark of the second period. Nothing went well.
Here we go, emotional night for Pens fans as they arrive in Las Vegas to take on Fleury.
I am hoping for a 1-0 or 2-0 Las Vegas win, and perhaps Fleury robbing Crosby and Malkin of sure goals.

I'm not a guy who likes to see someone injured. But I'll make an exception with Brandon Dubinsky. Zack Kassian...you're my new favorite player. (Sorry, Jackets fans, but I loathe that guy.)
What is going on in Detroit? I know they've been struggling, but I watched last night on NBC Sports and the attendance was totally abysmal.
The announcers tried to make light of it, saying that the new facility and attractions have a lot of would-be attendees spending more time in the new shops, bars, and restaurants (presumably watching the games on TV) rather than actually going to the game. I thought that was a pretty shallow attempt to put a good spin on things. To me, it looks like the fan base can't tolerate a bad team, and putting their wallets behind their support (or lack thereof).
And last nights game might explain why: giving up the game tying Bruins goal (with Rask pulled) in the last minute, and then losing in OT. Painful loss, after they played pretty well the whole game. So, what's the deal?

That's the thing. Detroit has always been a great original 6 hockey town. I'm no Red Wings fan, but I don't like to see them struggling to this degree. They look to have some good young talent, so I'm sure they'll rebound eventually...but...yikes!

My girlfriend lives in a Detroit suburb, they got 8” of snow yesterday.
Took her 2 1/2 hours to get home from work, which would normally take an hour or less at that time.
The highways were a total disaster.
Not many who live “in” Detroit go to the games, it’s all the suburbanites. Most of them probably didn’t even get home from work till after the puck dropped.

I don’t know what’s happened to the Jackets defense in the last couple of games. They can’t seem to keep the puck out of their own zone. Luckily the O came on strong.
Really hoping it is because of bad weather, but that new rink in Detroit is less than half full for a Leaf game...***???
Get in line for stupid. The Pens are leading the league in that category right now.

The Seattle NHL team talk picks up some steam today after the owner of the Senators mentions possible relocation.
Considering how crappy basketball fans felt after the Sonics moved away, I can't imagine being happy about this option.
