NHL Regular Season 2017-18

Really surprised by the Blackhawks this year. Did not see that coming.

It would be easy to blame the skid on losing Crwford in December and he still hasn't returned, but it's not just the fact that the backup goalies are allowing more goals. The Hawks offense became inconsistent after the new year and then quickly went consistently bad. The last couple of weeks they've been struggling with basic stuff like connecting with passes and setting up in the offense zone on power plays.

It's not like thay aren't trying. You can see they're busting their butts and that they're frustrated as hell with every loss.

Just painful to watch.

The B's have a 5-game road trip starting tomorrow in Vancouver, then 2 games in Alberta, on to Toronto, then to Baja Toronto (Buffalo). At least the late game (10 PM start) with the Canucks is on the weekend. To keep pace with their overall record, they would need 7 points. To keep up with their pace since January 1, they would need 8 points in the 5 games.

The Bruins GM (Sweeney) as a "Try Hard" seems right. Firing Claude and hiring Cassidy appears to be a great move. The kids appear to be able to play and he has signed important young guys like Marchand, Pastrnak and Krug to deals fair to both sides. Some of the trades haven't worked out great, but it is hard to argue with the B's current record.

Yeah I fully expect the Bruins to demolish my Canucks.
