Don't know about that, when I look now I seem the same team up by 1 point with 2 games in hand. And it aint the Pens....
They are not in that bad shape, and have been playing some really good teams lately. 1 point out with a game or two in hand, but it is going to be a real exciting finish, have 3 teams within 1 point of each other for last wildcard.
At the time I posted that, it was true.
The Caps jumped back into first after winning today. The Pens are off till Friday. By Friday, those games in hand will be gone too.

I realize that they're not going to go an a 16 game winning streak every year, but with the addition of Panerin and the maturing of Seth Jones, Wennburg, and Werenski, I was hoping to see them in the upper echelon of the Metro division.
As a Pens fan, the Jackets were one team I feared coming into this season. Especially after acquiring Panerin...a major upgrade over Saad, IMO.
But as we've all seen, something just hasn't been clicking this season as much as I'd anticipated. Now, I'm just awaiting Tortorella's next meltdown! (I actually like the guy, and always have... since his days as an assistant here in Phoenix).
Now, if Philly would just stop playing over their heads!

Looks like Erik Karlsson is available, but only if you take on Bobby Ryan's bloated contract, too. Where is Ottawa gonna find a contender with $14M in cap space? Right now Arizona is about the only team that could pull that off, but they have nothing to offer in return. Maybe the rights to Chris Pronger and Pavel Datsyuk? (IIRC, their contracts are still on the Coyotes' books (in name only)).

I heard that too, no one is going to take that deal. Only GM worse than Dorian is Bergevin... or maybe Chiarelli.

Leafs win in OT tonight, and it's a legitimate win.

Leafs face bruins, then Lightning next 2 games. That would be some sweet catch up points.
My thoughts (hopes) are, the Bruins peaked early, and will falter down the stretch. However, if I'm wrong, I'd rather face the Lightning first in the playoffs, because the bruins are choking everyone out lately. Hard to find flaws in their game lately. Not to mention the heartbreak they gave us in the 2013 playoffs.

No matter who wins, a shootout should not even be considered for a medal game. This is hockey, not soccer. That said, from what I saw, the better team (this time) won.

Nope. Not buying that. When two TEAMS have played through a whole game and an overtime period with no clear winner, there is no reason to change the game from a TEAM sport to an individual skills competition.
