Thanks, Lightning, for stinking up the ice for the past two games. Not only did they not win game 6 or7, they didn't even score a goal.
Washington's defense managed to completely choke off the middle of the offensive zone for most of this series, especially tonight. Props to them. But the Bolts just looked tired and frustrated, and weren't making many passes or plays before getting broken up at the blue line.
Here's to a Vegas sweep! Go Fleury!

After game 6 , I was expecting a real old time rock-em sock-em game. Pretty disappointing as a Lightning fan
I was expecting more of a fight from the Lightning but congrats to Ovie and the Caps. They are playing great hockey at the right time. It's going to be an exciting finals.

I laugh about that because I actually joked with a guy last summer before the draft, when I read the Vegas odds were 500-1, that I was going to put $100 on the Knights to win the cup, just for fun.

Man, I hope every game this series goes 5-4 (or more) like this, what a fun game this is/was.
I'm torn.
Not only do I want Vegas to win, I also want the Caps to choke. I'm just not sure whether I'd prefer a choke-by-sweep (4-0 VGK), or a choke-by-comeback (Caps up three games, then lose).

That was an exciting game. Tons of scoring opportunities - much more offense than defense. Not the goalie duel that we were promised.
Agreed. Fleury didn't look great during the first half of the game, but certainly picked it up in the latter half, especially the last 10 minutes of the 3rd. VGK played a bend-but-don't-break defense holding onto the late lead, but that gave the Caps way too many chances. Timely plays by MAF and the D-men prevented the equalizer from being scored. But they let the Caps walk right in and all the way to the low slot over and over. That ain't always gonna work against the high octane offense the Caps possess.
