Panthers and Capitals just started. I don't enjoy these games-the commentators call them 'Cats' and 'Caps' and after playing in some stupidly loud bands over the years, I can't discern wuttinahell they're saying.

NHL Season 2018-19

They seem to have awakened. Meanwhile the Panthers are napping. Both goalies pulled. Fun times!
Panthers win in the s.o., still pretty sloppy but we'll take it.

I'm gonna start lamenting the demise of the Penguins again, because every time I do, they go out and get a nice win.
Tonight they start a Western road trip in Edmonton, then on to Calgary and Vancouver.
Oddly enough, the Pens' record against top teams (Wash, VGK, and Tor) is 3-0. Their record against (projected) lottery pick teams is 0-3 (Mtl twice, and Vancouver). Technically 0-1-2, but a loss is a loss, regulation or OT. Which team will show up tonight?

If all works out, I should be at the Pens game in Vancouver.

Wow! What a game! Back and forth all night long... up one, tied, down one, tied again. Good effort by both teams but was ecstatic when Sid scored that game-winner. Sure, it was against a tired forward playing defense, but that's what the great ones do... take advantage of the breaks when they recognize them.
McDavid may very well be the new 'best' NHL player, but 87 showed us he's not exactly done yet either.
Oh, and this just in... Jack Johnson is still terrible in his own end. First two Oiler goals were on him, IMO.

First Toronto, now Edmonton. Pittsburgh has let them both know the league isn't theirs yet. 
Sure that Crosby goal was sweet, but I'm stoked Oleksiak is getting playing time and he scored!

yeah, I would think he is in Sullivan's dog house after that showing. Daniel Sprong too for his lackluster effort.
The great ones make difficult plays look easy - that was a great example.
The B's just finished up a Western Canada (plus Ottawa) road trip with a nice win over the Senators, but the B's had a tougher time out west with just 2 OT losses to show in 3 games.
