(It has been 40 years so I'll attribute both my mistakes to old age!) Thanks for the corrections!Wasn't Cherry, it was the Leafs owner Harold Ballard. And he was talking (correctly) about Hammarstrom. Salming was as tough a defenseman as there was, just look into some of the wars the Leafs had with the Flyers in the 70s. He was not known as a fighter, but he backed down from no one, not Schulz, not Kelly, and gave at least as good as he got.
