Generous indeed. But if (big IF) we get the Murray of two seasons ago instead of last year's banged up (mentally and physically) then it is a fair ranking.
Saw the similar article regarding defensemen. They had the Pens 11th, but with the caveat that Letang had to have a bounce back year. Even if he scores 90 pts from the blueline, the rest of the D does not warrant a 'top third of the league' ranking, IMO.
Pens were third on the Forwards list...seems about right. Should help having Cullen back...and if Brassard ever gets all cylinders firing.

Yeah, it's no good going into a season with some 'ifs' like the ones the Pens have.
But hey, I am sure Rutherford is working right now on a deal for another center or winger. Gotta improve on that #3 ranking.

One of those extra forwards who impressed me was Derek Grant. I gotta admit I dont recall seeing much of him with the Ducks but so far in the preseason I like what I've seen. Big body, above average skater. Hope they can find a roster spot for him.

I thought Gritty was loosely modeled after Vorachek.

NHL hockey is coming to Seattle in 2020, or 2021 if they don't have Key Arena ready in time.
Today, the NHL recommended Seattle apply for an expansion team.
I have mixed emotions. Excited because I love hockey, but cautious as I don't think the team will last in Seattle.

I don't think ownership will be the problem. It's going to be the fair weather fans.
It'll be cool for a while to go to games and be seen in the arena. But something else will come along more hip, more cool, more trendy to draw the attention of people and they will move on from NHL hockey.
The attention span of people is already short enough, but in a highly techie area like Seattle, it is even shorter.
