NHL Season 2019-20

Each of the last 4 Bruin games seemed to feature a different combination of strong play by their opponents (esp Detroit), soft goals, offensive zone penalties, nullified goals , slow starts, bad finishes. They are a little out of sync; I thought they were past it after the first two periods against FLA, and it came right back.

They seemed to have regressed on the 3v3 OT where they excelled last year. They have been awful in shootouts.

Fortunately they started the year strong and have time to get back into sync.

ETA - the nullified goals were correctly called, but they seem to deflate the team for 5 minutes or so.

Wednesday Night Hockey had my two least favorite teams playing last night...Philly & Washington. Kind of tough to watch when you're rooting for both teams to lose. ;)

OT was wild though...Flyers seemed to hold onto the puck for nearly the entire 5 minutes of OT. Provorov impresses me every time I watch him. But Holtby (and the goalpost) held firm, and the Caps prevailed in the shootout.

I'm hip.[not really] Don't care about Philly, despise the Caps.

Crapola! Just read Sid will be out 6 weeks. That is not good. Time for Malkin, Letang, and Guentzel to carry the team for a while. The silver lining is Malkin always seems to shine when Sid is out of the lineup...hope that trend continues...
OK, not a Pens fan, but still don't like to see great players out due to injury.

I kind of thought TB (not Talk Bass) would be a little sluggish coming back from that Sweden series. I know so little...

It seems like scoring is way up across the league this season. But after looking it's 3.09 goals per team per game average this season so far compared to 3.01 last season.

It's that .08 that'll get ya every time.

Well that was hard to watch. There are some serious problems with this team. Not sure how long they can go without major changes. GM has one idea of how the game should be played, and had acquired players to play that way. Coach has a totally different idea of how the game should be played, and the players he has to coach do not play that way. There is far to much talent on this team to have these results. Maybe Babs can take over from Don Cherry.....

Ouch!

Not that impressive....you have to consider the competition....
Don't feel too bad. The Flyers were able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Up 3-0 almost half-way through the 3rd period, then let the Isles tie it up and force O/T. Goes to a shootout where the Isles first two shooters quickly score. Their 3rd shooter didn't even have to shoot because the Flyers laid an egg. Second night of back-to-backers for the Flyers, but you'd think they could hold a 3-0 lead. :rollno::banghead:
