The Avs are one of my other favorite teams I watch on a regular basis (Panthers being the other). This kid made a helluva impression in last year's playoffs and has even exceeded it so far this year. It's early, but unfortunately I don't see winning the Calder, although I certainly think he should. Kakko and Hughes will be the favs, and forwards always get the nod whether it's right or not. And the fact that those two play in the East and major markets will no doubt get them much more exposure. But, if I were starting a team of young stars, Makar would be my first pick. Not the worst thing a kid could hope for...View attachment 3599185
At least you can watch them. The same company that owns the Avalanche and the Denver NBA team owns the media outlet that televises the gamesThese breaks between Pens games feel too long. I almost forgot they have a game tonight.

Some good points made, and I can't fully disagree with any of them. Ever since the two Cups run, most of GM JR's deals have been flops with few exceptions. He really needs to pull off another sleeper deal like the Nick Bonino move back then...that deal alone strongly led to the 2016 Cup IMO.The Pens took another approach tonight, go up by two goals and see what happens.
They did it twice, and both times lost the lead. Then the game in OT, 5-4.
Three glove side high goals given up by Murray. Which is a shame as he looked good for stretches in the game. Then again, I think that was because the Islanders weren't shooting glove side high on him. A few times they fired off a shot right at him head on. Of course he'll stop those. Most goalies do when you shoot at their stomach.
Some Pen fans will blame injuries for the mediocrity the Pens are stuck in. It's Murray, and nothing will change until he is gone. Rutherford will dance around making deals here and deals there, some big time deals, others smaller ones that make him appear to be some kind of insider NHL genius. I'm not falling for it.

They are currently suing the cable company for antitrust due to jacking the price to carry said media outlet
