Third game in a row that the Flyers won in a shootout. The youngster, Joel Farabee got the winner tonight, and Carter Hart played very well. That's the good news.
The bad news is that in all three of those games, the Flyers jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but allowed their opponents to tie it up at 2-2. Pretty odd that all 3 would end up 3-2 with the Flyers having squandered three 2-goal leads. I'm glad they got the W's, but wish they could hold a lead.

Yeah, I agree. They started the season with a noticeable focus on penalty killing. Seems they've strayed a bit from the script. With as much as they've been tinkering with the lines it's expected though.
Well he's his own worst enemy. There's other color guys out there that are entertaining. I'm nosy who they will pick to replace him
Thinking Burke, would sort of keep with the same type of format. But maybe not stray as far from hockey themes.
Didn't know who you meant at first-hadda google him. We didn't get enough of him down this-a-way to be annoying.
Props to the Yotes for going into Washington and ending their 3-game losing streak. Up 3-0, they let the Caps come back, but the Desert Dogs managed to get the win in the shootout. Pleasantly surprised at their 10-6-2 record thus far.
That game was a roller coaster. Really fun to watch. The 5 minute 3 on 3 OT period was amazing. I was watching with my dad and when the Caps entered the zone I immediately said I thought they were offsides. My dad said it looked that way to him as well.
Both of us have played a lot of amateur league hockey and it helps develop a feel you don't get as a spectator. The goal was challenged and of course overturned because they were offsides.
But that just offset the earlier goal that wasn't a goal until the off site, automatic review process noticed the puck crossed the line in the Yotes' goal for a brief instant before being swatted out. You win some you lose some. In both cases the refs got it right after seeing the replay.

B's are in a funk - 2 points in 4 games. Tonight against the Panthers, the B's went up 4 - 0. Then Florida scores 4 to tie then wins in a shootout.
Another thing you don't see everyday, the lights went out while Florida had the puck. They came back on within a second or two, but I don't think I've ever seen that in a hockey game.
That said, it happened to me last summer in a baseball game when the lights, which were on a timer, went out while we were at bat. The game ended in a tie.

That was amazing tonight. Good on Florida for clawing back into it.
This is why I'd have traded Rask in 2015. I'm not saying it would have been a perfect fix, but he's a goalie you can never, ever really trust.

Pens left MSG with one measly point.
They got down early again, fought back into the game and tied it, but didn't have enough to finish this time and lost in OT.
Playing that style of hockey isn't sustainable, as we saw tonight.
