NHL Season 2019-20

Hell yeah!! he blasted Mcgill..lol..I watched a good movie about Probert..him and Ti were from the same town, Windsor Canada...I feel bad for the troubles Probert found himself in...happens to the best of us sometimes..
I'm sure getting punched in the head didn't help. Did that movie say much about his lifestyle? I thought I heard he was a partier

Those videos returned some good memories

See guys?
Even this random game on my Android phone knows who the face of hockey is. :)

Yes he fell into the cola trap...got caught once bringing a 1/4 oz into canada...he had his share of struggles with demons for sure...but the Red Wings stood behind him as long as they could..the movie itself was a great movie. I highly recommend it to any hockey fan.

In some ways I am okay with them just dumping the season--there's too much weird stuff going on.
And now it comes up that players & teams can be fined & draft picks lost if player decline to play.
That may not be official yet--but at least the sentiment is out there.

(Although now that I read it again, I may have misunderstood some of the intent-still with he risks out there, cancelling it all wouldn't bother me)
Yeah--some of that is not quite right--the article was unclear & I misread it.

It was kinda cool seeing the reports from various teams' training camps as they began skating yesterday. I still have mixed feelings about salvaging this season/postseason but if they are indeed going forward, I'm sure I'll be watching it as much as usual once play starts.

Yeah. I'll be watching games I don't care about. I've run out of 'interesting'[stuff]on TV.

Meh, I'm kinda liking it, along with the 'S' logo with the red eye at the end of the video.

What stinks for us Yotes fans is we get switched to the Central Division once the Kraken take the ice. Arizona travelling as far east as Nashville and Chicago for divisional games? After 23 years of building Pacific rivalries with Ducks/Kings/Sharks, it's all down the tubes.

Maybe the Yotes should move to Council Bluffs? Seriously, I've never understood how they come up with some of these 'divisions'.

It's official, the Seattle Kraken.
Dumbest name in the NHL.
I am disappointed.

Columbus Bluejackets. It is dumber, especially in Ohio. I am disappointed by the utterly tame, corporate team colors.

I was hoping for Metropolitans, but considering the history of that team and a pandemic, maybe a different name is just as well.

Yep. Dumb move by the NHL moving the Coyotes.
As for Seattle, I'll give them credit for sticking close to the Seattle sports teams colors, but it feels to me like they're trying to appeal to kids and hip young people. Sure, those folks can be hockey fans too, but those aren't your hard core fans that'll go to games on a cold Tuesday night in the middle of winter and the team is in the midst of a losing streak.
But to be fair to Seattle, it was actually Bettman who nixed using the Metropolitans name. Shame on him.
So yeah, this 'release the Kraken' bit will be cool and trendy until something else comes along in 20 seconds to grab peoples attention.

Welcome to the fire pit of the Central division. If you make it to the playoffs, you'll already be beat to ****

I feel strongly and always will the The Metropolitans was the way to go. You don't throw away a name that is on the Stanley Cup. I would have fought for it to the death.

But, honestly, I don't hate The Kraken. It's has roots in Norse mythology and we have a ton of Norwegians here. I would have hated the "Coho" or "Sockeyes" or "Rain...Storm...whatever"

I think they did about as well as they could have without honoring history. I can imagine some killer graphics and maybe an enormous cephalopod in the arena, like Shark mouth the they skate out of in San Jose.

I'm really happy to finally be an NHL city. It's not as easy as it used to be to zip up to Vancouver for a game. I can walk to the arena from my house or it's just a few bus stops away.

Might be better than the Seattle Seaweeds. Just saying

By the way, the "Mighty Ducks" was the most stupid major professional team name of all times, of any sport. Let's not forget that atrocity, naming a team after a Disney movie. Not a big fan of "Avalanche" or "Wild" either. I don't know the origin story of the "Blue Jackets", but I hope it's a good one.

Kraken is growing on me already.

Maybe, but the team was owned by Disney at that time.
