I actually like the Kraken nickname. But I know my buddy Mike's going to hear it a lot more than I am.

I'm reminded of the 'story' that the NBA Washington Bullets were changing their name because of the negative connotation. The new name was to be The Bullets.
Back in the 70s, Pete Stemkowski was known for his sense of humor, in a good way. When the Rangers GM noticed that his last name spanned across the back of his jersey from shoulder to shoulder, the GM commented on shortening his name. Stemkowski said he'd already been thinking about, changing it from Pete Stemkowski to Joe Stemkowski. Funny guy.
Well, the Leafs were able to beat the Habs last night with what appeared to be one functioning line. The other three forward lines looked half arsed at best.
I did feel bad for Carey Price though.... he should sue his teammates for lack of support!

The Hawks beat the Oilers 6 - 4. Not because Chicago played particularly well, but because Edmonton looked out of shape and unprepared.

What a weekend! Missed the NHL more than I thought I did, and was glad to have it back as I tuned into most of the games.
Pens and Bruins looked flat and out of it for the most part, while the Flyers and Blackhawks looked to be in mid-season form. I know it's just one game but in this unusual format there's no time for a mini-slump.

From the opening scene of episode 1, I was hooked. Bought the set of DVDs, plus the follow up.
DallasStars (my team) just blew a big lead in the third period. There was one questionable goal, but they blew it, themselves.
