NHL Season 2021-22

That was weird seeing Zdeno Chara in an Islanders jersey. I thought he retired.

-Mike
He'd actually began his career with the Isles back in the late 90s. It was definitely strange was seeing him in a Caps jersey last year. And yes, I'd also forgotten he was still playing until they started mentioning his 'most games by a defenseman' accomplishment this past week. Who knew? ;)

Will the real Pittsburgh Penguins please come back on the ice? Losing to Toronto and Carolina was understandable, as they are both contenders. However, losing 6-1 at home to the Devils is not palatable under any circumstances. That's the kind of loss that can get a coach fired. Thankfully Sullivan has built a winning reputation, but a lesser coach might have been shown the door after that kind of smackdown. :vomit:

Jake DeBrusk was put on the top line with Bergeron and Marchant last night in Seattle and delivered two goals. Is anyone hearing any rumors in your town about trading for him? He asked for a trade months ago, but it appears that the B's will not let him do for a pack of pucks. I still think the B's will be one and done in the playoffs, but if DeBrusk regains his scoring touch, maybe there is a chance they go deeper.

Been hearing his name come up often as in heading to the Coyotes, mostly for the salary dump from Boston. Seems like he could never get it going under Cassidy, but I don't follow the Bruins that closely to know if there's more to the story. Latest rumor I'd read was DeBrusk for Kessel, as they expect Phil to be an added gun in the postseason.

yeah that was rather bizarre. Jersey hasn't been good lately, and when I turned it on they were already up by 3. If they can get consistent, they may be for real next year. Sid was pissed.

I find the TNT broadcast awful. One announcer stated that Stamkos clearly brought his "shooting stick" tonight. It was 1:20 into the game. Going to Koharski to have him say "that was the right call" seems unnecessary. I was gonzo before the 10 min mark. :spit:

I had a gig last night. The TVs-sound off-were tuned to a basketball game. I caught the last 20 minutes of the hockey when I got home. What I heard was not impressive. Liked the outcome, though.

Was it really necessary to make it that exciting???
Not very high-scoring for an NFL game...it was only a touchdown for each team, and a field goal for the Leafs, 10-7. :smug:

Gotta feel for the Wings...they score seven goals in a game and still lose by three.

If they played another period Marner MAY have flirted with Sittler's record of 10 pts in a single game.

That may have been the worst I have seen 4 "NHL" goalies play in the same game.
