I won't let it get in the way of my enjoyment of the game as I thought it was a great representation of high level hockey.

Not sure about the refs not wanting to be the ones determining the outcome....Kerry Fraser (pretty much any game he called, one in particular...)? Brett Hull's foot clearly in the crease? And there are many more.....

That 6th men was clearly on the way to the bench , far from the puck.
Maybe would have been called on the first period but it's on par with all the other non called ones

Exactly. Byram gets called for the hook against Hedman early in the second yet later on there's Bogosian practically hitching a ride with his stick from the Avs player on a scoring chance. No call on Bogosian despite he'd hooked the guy for several seconds vs a half-second for Byram.

And agreed, the too-many-men is a judgement call. None of the four on-ice officials saw it, which tells me Mackinnon was so far from the play that it had no effect whatsoever. (Although I totally understand the Bolts griping..I'd be seething if it happened against my team.)

Kadri was only open to take the pass because he left the bench before the Avs player who was leaving the ice was anywhere near the bench. He had picked up the puck and crossed the blue line and the Avs player still had not got to the bench. So while the extra man was not directly involved in the play, the Tampa player who should have picked Kadri up was still with the man who had not left the ice yet. Very bad call. Not as egregious as the Oscar winning phantom high stick performance by the Lightning player in game 6 against the Leafs which gave T.B. a 2 man advantage and ultimately the series, but still a bad call...Karma anyone?

I haven't had a chance to see a lot of the Western teams the last few years. Even though I have NHL Center Ice, I normally only get a chance to watch the Flyers games. But every time I see the Avs play, I just shake my head over why the Flyers drafted Nolan Patrick at #2 when Cale Makar was still available. That kid is phenomenal! What a lost opportunity...

If there was a TB player that was still covering MacKinnon who was skating towards the bench and obviously out of play instead of Kadri who should have been picked up even if he came in early that's just a bad decision on the TB defender.

And let's not forget that no matter how Kadri got the puck he went through a triangle of uncovered TB players like they were in street shoes and made a fantastic shot.

And for Karma, let's not forget a playoff game last year that TB scored a go ahead goal when they had too many men on the ice. It's just the way of playoff Hockey.

My .02$

The 2004 Stanley Cup finals was the worst officiated series I've ever seen since I started watching hockey in 1983. I have 0 sympathy as a whole for TB based not just off that, but plenty of freebie calls they've also received
If they were the best team on the ice last night, they have been able to bury Colorado after outshooting the 17-4 in the first
