No shorts in gig contract

I'm just having a hard time figuring out what trans people in drag would be wearing.
I think it's "transvestite", vs. "transexual"?
Didn't read the entire thread because I really don't give a rat's backside what anyone wears. But I do think it's pretty funny that there are 9 pages (and probably more to come) about shorts. I will say one thing though. On any given day, I would rather hear a burnin' band in shorts over a mediocre band in long pants.
But I don't wear shorts. And unless you're claiming to have seen me play live, you have no idea what I wear on stage.
Dude you can wear whatever you want to.
Just kick some ass when you're on stage - then everything will be fine. Shorts or no shorts.

Hehe - actually, I never told anyone what they could or couldn't wear. I just alluded to your rock'n roll attire because you stated that people had to have a certain amount of success in order to dress a certain way.
I just thought it was funny. No harm intended. Honestly I think people should do whatever they feel like...and I'm glad you seem to agree.

Wow this is the first time I’ve come across that attitude. They are so simple and convenient to use and I’m puzzled why you would think that they aren’t fit. They are widely used at all levels in Australia with never a comment. To me they make sense especially if you’re not into pedals. It’s easy enough to turn your volume off while you tune.
I have to disagree. The fact that he’s been dressing like that the entire time - before he was famous and after he became famous - is completely salient in a way that “Oh yeah when you’re famous you can wear shorts and tank tops too” just isn’t. One is reality, the other is a blithe and poorly considered retort designed to squelch real conversation on this issue.It's no more tired than, "My favorite bass player does it, so it must be OK for me to do it too!"

It’s the assumptions and soft logic that are bumming me out more than a discussion of when, where, and how shorts are ok or not ok on a particular stage. I am against the blanket prohibition myself, but still am conscious about my appearance on stage. It’s just that it’s contextual. The blanket statements and disregard of salient counter-arguments bum me out.
