NO WAY! Single cut version of the Ibanez BTB!!

The 4 and 5 string have 19 mm, 6 stringers 17.5 mm. I screw that up :p

edit: 16.5?? did I miss something? Every BTB I've played with seems wider than that... That's how I ended up with my B206SM and my Studio 6. They had narrow string spacing compared to the BTB676 I keep drooling over.

Ibanez has been looking at a single-cut thing for some time now(years ago I heard about it for the first time with luthiers commissioned to do possible prototypes and/or design ideas.
About time they went through with it.

I cant say it enough, love the high end ibbys but please do somein some nice trnsparent finishes!

Want Adan Nitti's blue 6 string.

Have wanted an Ibanez Custom 6 string in blue since I was 16 20 years ago!

Even refinished a 406 and 506 in blue but the Mag body is too dark.

Want to see more ash/maple trans finish high end soundgears with EMGs.

LOve my dark ibbys but barts are too warm, loved the DW models-want a 6 string DW.

Probably to save money, the singlecut uses the same exact construction method.

The end result is that the bass side DOES indeed have a lot of neck wood showing, because there is simply more length of it than on the treble side. Which is why the bass has a very odd, not-quite parallel stripe of light colored wood running all the way up the body that shows as an expanding width between the dark topwood and the neck itself.

A visual shame really, because this production method makes the neck look like it was attached to the body with a strange stripe running the length of one side. How this could not pass QC is beyond me.

This is exactely what I was saying earlier - its a cheap way of doing a SC that looks...off. Too bad. It isn't QC, it's design. The neck laminates start out symetrical around the fingerboard, but by design, a lot less wood is trimmed off on the SC.


And on the 15.5mm spacing on the 7 - it isn't too bad. I prefer 19, have a Warwick that is 17 and find it tight, but on the 7, 15.5 feels fine. I play it a little differently than more mundane basses, but I can still rock out fine.

This one seems to have a Ash body, so I think 11 / 12 lbs.

11 or 12 is more reasonable, I might be into it at that weight. Still gonna need a wide, thick strap for that bad boy.

Now if they'd only offer a nice trans black over flame maple like the btb575 I tried a while back instead of the coffee table top...
