I don't think I'm a bastard...... but a lot of other people do!! Plus I'm 59 and still playing bass......uuuuhhhhmmm, do I qualify? ADD ME YOU SORRY B#@%ARDS.........
Quite some time ago, I had a new student (percussion, I wasn't playing bass yet) coming from another teacher. Since I didn't know that particular teacher, and I wanted to have an idea of the particular percussion techniques (grip and so on) the student might have learnde already, I asked about the age of his former teacher. The kid answered: "Ow, old! At least about thirty!" I was in my early thirties back then... Now I'm teaching kids whose parents are much younger than I am... Yep, relativity and all that jazz... The mother of one of my students has my age, and doesn' like me to refer to my youth as "old and grey past" (translated literally from a local saying... doesn't work out well)
Playing a Sunburst Fender JB doesn't help either: maybe I should swith to a Flea Bass, junior model...
Number please? I'm 62 and still playing. Graduated from 4-5-6-7 strings. I remember when the Everly Brothers were new! And I remember when phones didn't have a dial; you picked it up and waited for an operator to say, "Number please!"
Thanks! Of course, due to the 200-character limit, I now had to delete the word "Club" from each part of my sig. But as long as no other interesting numbergiving clubs show up, I'll be able to keep the quote and all.
I don't think it gets me membership, but I've taken to growling disapproval in rehearsal, rather than try to negotiate a point. Consider this a consult.
