...How about a mini octave with not even two pots for clean and octave down.
Just a blend pot and the filter...I think that too would be quite an interesting thing given that the blend would basically do the same thing as the two pots do now. No?
So; two, rather than three pots in all...

Yeah! That's how Red Witch does it in the Factotum and Zeus — the octave is just a one-knobber-jobber, 12:00 = 50/50 clean/wet.

As I mentioned in another thread, I was hoping for Red Witch to extract just the octaver from the Factotum/Zeus and stuff it in a 1590a. I still want Mr Fulton to do so, though even if he did — it would do nothing to diminish my lust for the T16.

How is it more flexible with two than with one...it's just the balance between two voices, no?

Both levels can go slightly above unity now. I like to have that option.
Also, I think the filter alters the perceived volume of the sub-signal when solo'd. You might want to compensate for that. So I think it's perfect as it is.

Maybe a balance knob paired with a master volume would work for me as well.

I don't need it to go beyond unity.
As long as no volume drop happens I'd love just the balance and the filter.
You could compensate for the perceived alteration of the volume in octave sound due to the filter with just the balance .No?

Well if that's how you want to handle it, that's fine, but having played many effects with a blend knob vs many with separate wet and dry knobs, including the Micro Pog I used to have and the Pitch Factor I replaced the Micro Pog with, wet/dry allows you much greater control of your blends and I'll take that every time over a blend knob. Only reason I kept the Pitch Factor is because it was smaller.

Purely so you've got total control of the output level. A Blend & Master combination would be the other way to go, but as I'd got space for three knobs I didn't want to limit functionality and did want to maintain consistency with the T-65. I would guess from past experience that a greater proportion of people would want independent levels rather than a blend knob, but....
