NPD DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim

Sorry @Dsmnoisemaker, this put me off getting a Deluxe. Loving my v1 though!

It didn´t make much sense making it stereo since the signal is mono anyways..and the aux in mixes both channels into mono..it wasn´t designed for super hi fi, i prioritized power, in order to be used as a monitor.. (you can even plug it into a small speaker)

This was my initial thought as well, but after Daniel explained prioritizing volume over stereo I felt it was a good choice. Stereo would only be interesting to me when practicing, to be able to get the aux in in stereo. Getting the aux in mono, and instead gaining monitoring possibilities is a clear benefit to me. Previously I've used a separate monitoring unit to be able to get the volume required to be used during rehearsal or live. So with the deluxe that will be one box less on the floor.

I also wouldn't have preferred a bigger pedal with both features. I'm hoping the deluxe will remove my Ampeg SCR-DI, which I feel is a bit too big for me.
As always, this is only an opinion among many. You probably have a different playing situation and different needs compared to me.

Cheers,
Kalle

You got me.. it was a serious decision..a powerful mono or a wimpy stereo? i went for the first one. The final decision was made when i tried it playing along with a backing track through the phones..i didnt miss the stereo..at all. and it is not that you are going to take the phones output to record something.. for practical reasons, is perfect to me..

The only situation i though when stereo is totally needed, is if i was playuing with a stereo rig (ping pong delay, etc)..but the omni is mono, so that situation is not feasible unless i put 2 omnis inside 1 box..

Hey guys small update here!
The boards are ready to ship to chile and the enclosures will be ready this week, so, all good!

I launched another pre order campaign for the ones that want to use the preorder discount. The offer will be available until the end of may.

On the down side.. My website has been hacked multiple times this week, and had to restore it many times..that sucks big time!!

So this week i will be changing the host and make a new website asap..

I'm having to list my original version in the classifieds. This pedal is truly amazing but I just don't have an immediate use and the newborn is dominating discretionary income. Cheers for a brilliant design and execution!

Bummer in the site, I tried visiting the other day and my browser nearly sent me into a seizure warning me about its content. Hopefully it gets resolved permanently.

Update !
I just received the custom cardboard boxes for the omnicabsim:

and the enclosures are ready to ship to chile:

the boards are on transit to Chile..

The shipping fees and taxes were much higher than i expected, so, if you want to preorder one, i will be very thankful!!

Verk nice! Looking great! I'm sure looking forward to trying it out when it's done.
Great work Daniel!

Cheers,

I am so close to preordering one of these! Seems like the coolest thing ever. I was wondering if I could coax a Mesa Diesel 215 sound out of the deluxe model? That would kind of seal the deal for me.

Cool video, and interesting timing. Earlier this week a bassist friend tipped me to Haken, so I checked out a couple of their videos and went to their website. I couldn't help but notice that Conner and I have a lot of gear in common: Tonehammer 500, Cali76, Darkglass pedals, and the OCS of course. Also, judging from the video, we both prefer fingerstyle but use the same kind of picks when necessary! :D

I was also wondering about the mid contol. If the highest setting is a flat setting, will the omnicabsim cut a mid-heavy signal to a flat level? Will a midheavy tone going in come out with less mid range?

^ just to let you know ... the preorder-link does not work, my browser (Google Chrome) says:

i can´t find any specs for that cab..but i can assure you that it can model almost anything. I compared it yesterday with the AXE fx´s cabinet sims, and honestly, i didn´t care much for them, they sounded great, but it takes a lot more effort..

You can use the Punch control to boost 800Hz, and/or the Mid control to cut 450Hz. Both of those can be set reasonably flat.

It will, this is what the knob is made for :p However I'm quite certain you'd be better off using something else earlier in your chain to shape your mids with more precision (I'd use a parametric EQ for this).
