Yeah, that makes perfect sense. And he did adjust the frequency range of the most recent batch higher up for better usability. I don't currently have a distortion/fuzz to check it with, but I imagine I'd run into a similar phenomenon just from the nature of each component amplifying the ones before it, et cetera. I mostly asked because I'd hate it for someone to purchase the pedal and end up feeling/thinking that it's defective (as long as it isn't, of course), commenters didn't specify whether they've reduced their signal chains to the minimum or not, so I naturally asked if only to possibly help them locate the actual source of the noise. Assuming that the pedal is indeed working as intended.
Aye, nothing is ever 100% silent. TBH, I partially bumped the thread just to express my enjoyment of the pedal. My DI'd recordings took a massive leap in quality when I got the MESA Subway, and they've now made yet another similar leap when paired with your OCS. When a product is legit, you just hear it straight away. While there are more and more IR cab sims out there now, I think that there will always be a place for an analog cab sim for those of us who prefer that approach.
This is likely too inquisitive, but was there communication between you and Doug regarding the IR in the new AO Ultra? While pleasantly surprised that it has a cab sim feature, I wasn't too surprised they opted to go with the digital option rather than the analog one.
