NPD DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim

If you don't need the mid controls, the headphone amp and the aux in, absolutely go for the mini.

I own the original OCS: no headphone or aux (which I don't need), and I've always felt that the mid controls were nice-to-have rather than must-have. That said, I'm intrigued by the separate gain and level controls on the mini!

Well, to each their own. :)
For me all these features are mandatory since I purchased the OCSD mainly as a silent practice tool and my bass sound is all about mids. I can't imagine being without those controls other than having an additional EQ.

Anyone else get a real high end squeel through the 1/4" out? It's not loud, very minor, but I can't get rid of it. I've tried 4 different power supplies. The XLR is fine, but in situations where I can't control the phantom power, it would be easier to use the 1/4" into a JDI.

that´s strange. The 1/4 is copied from the DI out and all passive. I'm pretty sure that´s switching noise..a high end whine, like pedal tinnitus.

just ordered! apparently one of very few (if any) canadian orders. come on canuckleheads!
excited to have this show up later in the year and fit on my little board
Yeah Canada! You still have a future as a country, so order now! :)

Weird artifacts like that are sometimes cured by switching to an isolated power supply (in cases where multiple pedals are being used, anyway).
Interesting, sadly it happened on all my power supplies, 2 of which were the isolated CS6 and CS12. I'll have to live with it for now and hope I don't need to use the 1/4" anytime soon. On a positive note for anyone who has headphones that need to be driven harder, running the pedal on 12v works really well.

The headphone amp is regulated to 5v.. there's no difference to use higher voltages there..the main circuit gets more headroom, though.

I'm really wanting to move to the mini, but I rely on the aux in and headphone out. I swear there was a guy on this thread that had a pedalboard with his own headphone mixer. It's a lot of pages to look through if anyone remembers what it was would be great.

There are quite a few different options. Rolls is very common and has a lot of options. Behringer has one, but volume was an issue live in my experience. I’m sure, and hope, others will add to the list shortly!

I use a Tasty Blender V2 from Rock On Audio and currently feed my OCSD into it. I originally bought the Tasty Blender to add adjustable limiters to my IEMs.
