NPD DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim

Man, i have been assembling mini OCS like crazy!
I'm expecting to start shipping by the end of the week to the first ones that pre-ordered.
No offense meant at all and the new mini pedal looks sweet, but I read in your description that you are moving away from preset cab settings like the classic 8x10 for instance. Let the people create their own sound. But for me (hey, I am a bass player and not a guitar amp tweaker) all I need is a great 8x10 cabsim pedal with a great di to put on the end of the pedalboard. All those knobs and the potential infinite tweaking possibilities just make my head spin. Will you consider making a cheaper analog 8x10 pedal? Input jack, thru (for stage amp) and DI out.

No offense taken. The mini omni has the fridge setting which is modeled after a 8x10, but you can tweak the bass resonance and the texture..actually its pretty simple to use..The deluxe is a bit more complex.
There's many preset cabsim DI boxes out there, radial, behringer, palmer, etc.. Tweakability is my signature that difference my products from the rest...fixed settings always make me feel that there's something missing..is just the way i am and it is reflected on my designs..
Cheers!!

I find it really cool how dang often I see people running the OCSD here on Talkbass. Maybe it's just the Jule/Dingwall/Greenboy/Damnation Audio/Reiner/Darkglass crowd that I run with, but I see @Dsmnoisemaker stuff everywhere! Testament to the quality of the work I think.

Can't wait for the mini!

My OCSD and F112 play VERY nicely together drool

Well, i´m not "everywhere", my wallet would feel that :)
Actually, you Talkbass guys are the special ones to me, i´m pretty unknown outside this forum..on the gearpage forum there´s like 1 post about it, and i wrote it..even in chilean forums, they know little about DSM. And i am not like some other boutique pedal companies that gets friends (or "dummy users") to rave about their products at forums. Word of mouth and great product and support is my presentation..it takes longer, but it is more honest than a 10.000 dollars ad campaign with payed musicians and fake reviews. :)

i really love you guys!!!

Check out Conner Green´s Earthrise bass playthrough!
So proud that the Omnicabsim is on his pedalboard!!

I know this is a rather belated reply, but I am currently looking into buying the OmniCabSim Deluxe and I have been a fan of Haken ever since Aquarius. But with Conner having joined them i became more focused on the bass sound and lines. Not to digress i am going to start tracking bass for our album very soon and that's why I am looking into the OmniCabSim Deluxe, and i'd really love to get Conner's settings on Earthrise, Initiate, and or the monstrous Complete Work of Art Vector ... wow what an album I so want that bass sound

Thank you.

Hey guys! I was just reading this post: DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim Deluxe : knobs and frequency response

And just wanted to be sure that I understood something correctly:
The "flat" setting of the resonance filter is 12 o'clock? (position 5 according to the method of the OP)

Or am I seeing something wrong? :D

Thanks!

@Dsmnoisemaker This little device appeared today! Here are some pictures to give people an idea of how impossibly small it really is. Probably won't get a chance to test it for a day or two though, but will post thoughts/sounds...

Where'd you get the knobs and protectors on your Deluxe? Very cool!

I got mine from here: The Stompshield | keep your knobs set, no matter what. - but it looks like they've stopped selling them now.
For what they were they were a bit expensive, but I like the approach of things always being set & protected.
In theory you could do the front of an amp as well, it would save the controls getting knocked or moved in the same way.
Hopefully someone else will pick up the idea & continue making a similar product!

Just got mine this morning. Spent an hour with headphones jamming with all of these pedals and I’ve found a new thrill...looking forward to using this board at the gig tonight and all thru the weekend.
About to sell a bunch of pedals soon but before I do, they must all be plugged into the DSM OCS. It’ll be the litmus test for each one to pass for me to determine whether I’m gonna keep them or not.
