on my cr5m i'll boost the bass to about 2 o'clock, and cut the treble to about 11 o'clock, leaving the piezo/pup blend at 50/50. i find with this setting that when switching from pizz to arco i don't need to touch the eq. it is an older model with the pizz/arco switch, which i always use in full pizz or full arco setting, never the center , or "both" setting. the bass is currently strung with helicore hybrid mediums.
the amp is an alembic f1-x pre set flat, > qsc 3002 power amp> bergantino ht210 cabs. the tube pre definitely mellows the inherent "nasal" tone which i've always experienced with every piezo system i've used. the sound is definitely more hybrid...a nice arco voice, very pronounced, while the pizz sound is quite dark and dubby. the strings have mellowed considerably, as they are 4 years old. looking to try
to get a bit more growl with pizz, but that means different strings...
which will, of course, change everything.
