Number of people on your Ignore list?

Would be neat if when you got placed on someone's list it sent you a message like, "Two fingers has put you on ignore."* just for my own information. Or in your profile just a generic, "23 people have ignored you."

I understand why it is not done, that can add to a fight or hurt feelings, but I would like it.


*Two Fingers and I are not currently in a feud, just a fun example where no names were changed because none of us need to be protected.

Zero, though I am sure I am on someone's list.

I just skip by if someone is being a ding dong and do not want to read anymore. I like knowing what ding dong thing was said that others are talking about as being a ding dong thing to do.

How many people are on your ignore list? I used to go by the rule of never ignoring anyone, but found that it really made Talkbass more enjoyable. Every year or so, I'll review the list and I usually find that one out of five are now banned, so it isn't just me. Usually after the "review" I'll unignore everyone. Sure enough, the same people quickly go back on that list. I currently have seven on the list and by the time I do the net "review" there will probably be ten.

Please don't mention any members by name. I'm not trying to turn this into an outing or attitude shaming session. I like the feature.

Zero. I’m perfectly capable of skipping over certain posts (or even entire threads) without the need for assistive technology.

Zero. Never used that function. I've certainly gotten into it with some people, but no one has ever bothered me enough to put them a list. There are are few people who consistently make inane comments or just been bent on stirring up trouble. I just skim by those posts.

i have the ability too just bypass comments from people I don’t like or who always post ridiculous or unhelpful comments.

Zero. As others have mentioned, argumentative or unhelpful trolls tend to get themselves banned, or go away on their own when they get bored because people just stop responding to them.

None. There are a few whose comments I know aren't worth anything, but sometimes it can lead to a hearty guffaw (even if some subtle prompting is necessary).

I put people who are actively trolls or just obnoxious in their posts on my ignore list, makes for a less stressful experience sometimes. There are people I’ve put on and later taken off, as I realized they are just tone deaf, not really intending to offend people. I’m sure I’m on somebody else’s ignore list, and I’m totally cool with that.

I just checked, I had two people, one has been banned (good riddance, a classic troll), and one is a person whose opinion I highly respect and follow, no idea how he ended up on my Ignore list. Glad I checked!
