Number of people on your Ignore list?

How many people are on your ignore list? I used to go by the rule of never ignoring anyone, but found that it really made Talkbass more enjoyable. Every year or so, I'll review the list and I usually find that one out of five are now banned, so it isn't just me. Usually after the "review" I'll unignore everyone. Sure enough, the same people quickly go back on that list. I currently have seven on the list and by the time I do the net "review" there will probably be ten.

Please don't mention any members by name. I'm not trying to turn this into an outing or attitude shaming session. I like the feature.

Zero because honestly, who cares? I'm not here for a safe space and its fun to observe general internet buffoonery in the wild, especially the nameless and shameless product shills who may or may not be hanging around and posting Suess-esque ads for their patrons.

1. And I'm sure he's a great guy. But his avatar leads me to believe he would throw political bombshells if given half a chance. Honestly, I don't understand how avatars slide under the political radar around here. But they do. I just wanted to reduce my risk of running into his politocal minefield.

But I don't ignore people who have been hateful to me, or started arguments with me. Meh. Honestly, I try to forget those things. I may actually learn something from that same user down the road if I let it go.

Lol. I think I know exactly which one you mean.

Reactions: two fingers
I wanted to "ignore" everyone what makes a "tort pick guard" or "what's best for metal" comment but then realized, well, it would be awful lonely in some parts of here.

Then I thought to "ignore" everyone what fails an OP's request not to name a brand when commenting on stuff (ex., strings) but then realized, well, it would be awful lonely in some parts of here.

Then I thought to "ignore" everyone what fails to respond to an OP's thread-starting post but then realized, well, it would be awful lonely in some parts of here.

So I just ignore them what acted poorly in the classifrieds - they probably don't even know who they is but I don't run the risk, as a wise man said above, of dealing with their lame posteriors.

That's just the TB version of Shriners wearing a Fez. Some take it seriously, some think being goofy is fun, some just choose not to wear it. Anyone who is upset by it, however, probably needs therapy. :D

Yeah that's still no good. I'm still being informed that someone I'm ignoring said something. I'd have plenty of people on my list otherwise, as I'm sure I'd be on plenty of people's lists.
I'd be surprised if I haven't earned a spot on a few members list. I'm blunt and abrasive at times.

I don't have anyone on my ignore list. Sure, there are the same old threads - people complaining about uber/busy bassists, or simple bassists; people complaining about expensive basses or budget basses; people complaining about modern technology or vintage technology; "why more than four strings/when does it stop being bass" or "why would you want less than seven strings"....it goes on and on and on, it's pretty cyclical, and you'll definitely see a lot of strong opinions in all of these cases.

But I've found no reason to do a blanket ignore on all possible posts by a specific user based on a handful of posts or one single thread. It's simply unnecessary and I personally think it's a toxic mentality - the toxic mentality of our time. The only time I have used the Ignore feature is when the board was spammed with a lot of unreadable ads by a single user; that was a case where blocking everything by a user made sense.
