Official 2011-2012 NHL Regular Season Thread; Second Period

What sparks a streak? Stars are 8-0-1 in their last 9, PK is 26 for 27 in those 9 games. Rumors i mentioned before are confirmed- Morrow was activated from IR today. watch out...

The one game i've been to this season was that "1," a SO loss to the Penguins but one of the best games of hockey i've ever witnessed in person.

Thanks, we're excited. And right before it we have to go pick up the certified check for our house closing on Monday!!!
I feel like it might be Turco today, which I'm fine with, unless he sucks. This peverly injury I think has hurt more than I originally thought it would.

Enjoy the game and congrats on the house.

The thin, ratty silver lining of the Peverly injury is that it forced the Bruins to give Caron important minutes which is accelerating his development. It is almost deja vu with watching first Marchand, then Seguin and now Caron come into their own. I don't expect the flash of Seguin or the edge of Marchand, but I am enjoying watching Caron develop into the best player that he can be. I see some of Bergeron's all-around game in Caron; if that is where he is heading, that is a good thing for the B's.

Boys looked great tonight. Bryz is getting hot right when we need him to, and everyone is motivated and hustling. Got me kinda excited.

I watched that game yesterday afternoon. I'm not quite ready to sell the farm on Bryz yet,...but the Flyers are definitely getting a good look at what they paid for. Playoff performance is going to make or break Bryz. That said; I definitely enjoyed his shutout the other night. I think he has quietly been getting into his groove since coming back from the Flu in February and we are starting to see that culminate with 2 shutouts in 3 games,...a nice little winning streak. In the back of my mind though; I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Brandon Manning,...another rookie blueliner really impressed me. Made his NHL debut, worked hard, made some solid defensive plays including preserving the shutout with a well time poke check that clear a puck out of the paint in front of a wide open net. There was no panic in his game.

This team is so banged up right now. I haven't seen a Flyers team this injured in my short time really following them. Every time another player gets hurt my frustration level goes up. I accept that every team is going to have to battle through injuries,...but this year has been for the Flyers had been especially injury prone.

I really do hope that at least the Blueline gets healthy for the Playoffs. Rookie D will start to crack when the intensity of games ratchets up.
