I would like to appologize in advance for the comments that may come out of my mouth for the next few months. I get kinda worked up. lol
The hockey thread is the only place in OT that we seem to be respectful enough to hate someone else's team and post peacefully. I've been in rows with several of the NFL and NCAA guys, mostly over Favre and Tebow, but I can't remember anytime that I've had a go with a hockey thread regular.
You're a Preds fan, you have no legs to stand on for a legit argument. Not yet at least.

I'm hoping Detroit can pull it together and beat you guys. I don't want to face Nashville in the SCF.

Lol. I will do my best not to argue or vent. I think I've done well so far even with the penguins fans.
I don't mind anyone disagreeing with me or not liking the Pens. I look at it as a chance to learn from someone else more about the game.
Where I get sideways is the "haters", usually found at sites like espn.com message boards. The guys who hate guys/teams just to hate them or say ignorant things based on a few plays in a guys career. I don't think there is any room for that here, and no one does it thank goodness.
I never liked Mike Richards, but darnit he could score short handed goals like nobodies business, so I always respected that. When youn'z had Powe, I was mad at him for pouncing on Crosby a few years ago. I finally let Powe alone after Gillies of the Islanders pulled his shenanigans last year.

I still have the Jets (and Stamkos' goal count) to root for! That arena would explode for a playoff game. Plus, I'd rather not see the Caps in the playoffs again.
I think I'll be something of a Winnipeg fan when (if?) they move to the Western Conference, but yeah, I'm not exactly rooting for the Jets these days.

Yes, they are! They showed so much promise early in the season, but have completely fallen apart. When they are good (which isn't that often these days), they play like one of the top 10 teams in the league.

When they started off so hot I was a bit nervous. Boy did they fall off. Some of those mistakes tonight...wow.

We've got a few things to celebrate in these parts with the Preds. Such as:
We were the second fastest 1990's or 2000's expansion team to 100 wins.
Excluding Minnesota's one good season, we've fared much better than the other 3 newest expansion teams.
We're the only team in the NHL to have its original first round draft pick still on the active roster, and to top it off Legwand scored the goal that clinched our first ever playoff series win. And we're still on our first head coach.
We've built a tradition around winning, something the likes of Atlanta and Colombus just can't seem to pull off.
Plus, we are the hottest team in the West right now, have the second best PP, were 4rth in WC scoring, and we're getting the two-time KHL MVP and scoring crown winner back on Thursday.
Now, all of that doesn't compare to bringing some hardware home to Nashville, like the President's trophy, or the Campbell Bowl, but I'm certainly proud of the team as is.

A few other teams in the East might have other ideas.Actually, I think the Pens have a very good chance of getting there this year. Especially if Sid stays healthy. Rangers and Bruins (despite Boston's recent mediocrity) also look pretty strong. My Flyers have a chance if they can get healthy, and Bryzgalov stays hot. I'm thinking one of those 4 teams will represent the East. If I had to rank them by which one has the best chance, I'd probably put them in that order (Pens - Rangers - Bruins - Flyers). Not meaning to slight the other Eastern teams, but that would be how I'd rank their chances.
