No fan of Byfuglien either. He's an $$$ to use DH's terminology.
Not liking Buff is like saying you don't like the sun. Smarten up, you nitwit.

You'd think the NHL would pick the better officials for the playoffs. Our couldn't decide if they wanted to let the boys play or call penalties. Then blew a handful of calls both ways. Then blew a penalty shot call in OT. Way to go guys.
I'm Proud of the game we played for about 70 minutes. Unfortunately for us, the game was 90 minutes long. You can't take a chunk of time off in the playoffs and expect to win. Hopefully the team that showed up last night and out hit/shot/scored the bewildered Chickenhawks shows back up Friday night.
From the comments I'm reading about the Anaheim/Winnipeg game, I'm glad I didn't stay up late to watch it. I honestly don't think there are two players I dislike more than Perry and Kesler. This is only half to do with being a Kings fan and the other half them being who/what they are. I can appreciate Perry's scoring abilities but everything else about his game is trash.
Subban sure gave him an axe chop. A game misconduct?
They may have determined it was intent to injure:
- 61.4 Match Penalty – The Referee, at his discretion, may assess a match penalty if, in his judgment, the player attempted to or deliberately injured his opponent by slashing.
So either they wanted to set an early tone in game 1 to prevent it from getting dirty in the series.
But I think they made that call assuming Stone was injured and when he came back they couldn't reverse it. I don't know.
- 61.5 Game Misconduct Penalty – Whenever a major penalty is assessed for slashing, a game misconduct penalty must also be imposed.
This thread is turning a bit negative for my taste. There's sarcasm/poking the tiger and then there's just disrespectful.
I'll come back and post again after the Wild win the cup.![]()
At this point, I hate the Tennessean. They have a food critic (who doesn't know anything about sports) and our NASCAR beatwriter doing the hockey articles. They let the hockey writer go back at the beginning of the year, and this is what we've been stuck with. All stinking year. There's a couple team blogs I read and I'll scroll through Twitter once in a while, but I'm done reading our "official" hockey coverage.

They've got a fanpost there braking down the bad calls as well, but I'll refrain from posting it as it contains some NSFW language.
Funny kid, doing a Kesler impersonation.
Especially since Subban crashed his stick across someone's head in the 1st and it wasn't called. From what I could see, they were going to call it but didn't for some reason. Maybe because it was more of a chop than a slash, and chopping or attempted beheading isn't a penalty in the NHL YET.....You pretty much nailed. Stone came back but I understand that he didn't play much of 3rd and was ineffective and as it turns out the Sens are reporting that he has a microfracture of the wrist. The refs made the right call and since the game was in Montreal that is very impressive. Subban is lucky the injury wasn't worse or he would be looking at additional discipline. I don't think additional discipline is warranted but I am sure that the refs will be watching Subban closer and will have a lower threshold for calling him on excessive stickwork. The key for Montreal is whether Subban can adjust his play as need be.
I've given Montreal credit this year for adding some grit to their impressive speed and skill and for not embellishing at least in the games I watched against the B's. Subban, like the B's Marchand, needs to live on the line between gritty and dirty to be effective. That play was well into the dirty and he put his team at risk.

Not to take anything away from the Preds play tonight but the Hawks made so many mistakes, mostly on defense, during this game that it was inevitable pucks would end up in the net behind Crawford.
Amazingly, they were only down 3-2 in the 3rd period but chose that moment to have a complete team meltdown.
Awful. Just embarrassing to see them not only fail to execute basic plays, but to watch them get so frustrated that they take bad penalties on cheap shots and on-ice temper tantrums.
Final 6-2 Nashville.
Series tied 1-1.
I saw both teams doing it.Canucks' first playoff win at home since Game 5 against the Bruins in the 2011 SCF. That was a long time ago. My goodness. Hope they can pull off two more wins in the Saddledome amongst an ecstatic crowd.
Brutal end to the game. There is some bad blood going to Calgary. Hope the Canucks can keep disciplined and focus on winning the game instead of exacting revenge on Calgary's goons.
AHEM AHEM COUGH FERLAND AND ENGELLAND. Bunch of cowards. Ferland taking cheap shots at Lack. Little punk.
