Official 2015 NHL Playoffs Thread

I saw both teams doing it.
I wouldn't blame either one without blaming the other.

The best thing about game 1 between the Blackhawks & Preds was they replaced Crawford with Darling
The play by play was amusing after that.

Yeah Dorsett and Hamhuis were the main Canucks instigators. I saw the penalty list in the 3rd period...geezzzzzzz 132 PIM in total or something like that.

So far, Hamhuis and Dorsett are safe from the auto-suspension if you get two game misconducts. Engelland unfortunately has three misconducts and a couple of fighting majors so he's gone for Game 3. I doubt it's fully sorted out and I guess we'll find out tomorrow! Awesome end to the game though! Even Lack got involved in a minor scrum in the 2nd period.

YEAH PUNCH THAT BUTT, EDDIE!

Yeah...Chicago completely gave up. It is kind of sad to see this monster team just give up after 3-2. :p Saving it for the Madhouse, I guess!

Oh and Weber is injured and yet they still pulled off a massive victory.

Every single one of the six Pred goals was a result of a defensive breakdown. But this seems to be a historic pattern for the Hawks in the playoffs. They tend to have one game in a series where they forget how to play hockey and they chase the puck around the rink like a bunch of Peewee's.

I hope Shea Weber is back right away. His knee was injured by a clean hit against the boards that wasn't even very hard, but looked awkward. Losing their big captain would be a significant blow to Nashville' s game.

I'm rooting for my Chicago but I really do like this Nashville team. Should the Predators muscle their way through the Blackhawks I would like to see them go all the way.

Not to take anything away from the Preds play tonight but the Hawks made so many mistakes, mostly on defense, during this game that it was inevitable pucks would end up in the net behind Crawford.

Amazingly, they were only down 3-2 in the 3rd period but chose that moment to have a complete team meltdown.

Awful. Just embarrassing to see them not only fail to execute basic plays, but to watch them get so frustrated that they take bad penalties on cheap shots and on-ice temper tantrums.

Final 6-2 Nashville.

Series tied 1-1.

Thqt was the way the second period was for us in game 1. It was like the team that had showed up to dominate the first period just decided to figure skate for 20 minutes, and by the time they were focused on hockey again, it was too late. It's been a heck of a series so far, and I don't think that's going to change. The teams and play styles match up really well for fast and physical games.

I've not heard anything on the blog or twitter sphere about Weber. Teams keep news really tight to the chest come playoff time. I've seen a few tweets that it was an ankle sprain, but I don't really consider those sources very credible. Between he and Fisher missing time, we may not even be the same team we were.

Side note, how the heck did Hamhuis get less PIM than Engelland at the end of that game? Two fights, and skates over to double team a guy in another, yet only gets a two and a ten?

Not only have Flames fans missed playoff hockey for the last 6 years, but even more, they've missed an intense rivalry with a divisional opponent since the Oilers faded into relative obscurity that started with the Gretzky trade and ended as both teams skated into disappointing mediocrity from the magic and heat that a Flames/Oilers game - regular or post season would bring. It appears that has changed now. Apart from the fact that the 2 teams aren't from the same province, only 200 miles away from each other, there are similarities. Flames fans were disheartened and fed up with the dominance that the Oilers had over our team as they continued to win game after game with a far superior team. With the arrival of Bob Johnson (R.I.P.) and his superior coaching skills, attitude ("it's a great day for hockey!"), and connections with U.S. collegians, the Flames slowly turned the corner, and eventually started playing the Oilers on more even terms. The year before they won the cup in '89 they eliminated the Oilers in an intense, close 7 game series (Flames won it 1-0 when Steve Smith scored into his own net on his birthday no less) that meant more to Flames fans then winning the cup ever could - the next series that they lost was pretty much anticlimactic as it could never match the intensity of the previous one. The Canucks have dominated us for years now meting out defeats with the same boring regularity that the Oilers used to do pre Mullen, Otto, Loob, Macinnis, MacDonald, etc. as the Canucks did pre Gaudreau, Monahan, Wideman, Hudler, etc. That's all changed now. There's real hate building between these 2 teams, and with the faithful in Cowtown now. Series on!

Compared to the Alberta tivalry, Vancouver really doesn't have that much of an intense one with Calgary but this series might be turning the page.

I doubt we will see Edmonton anywhere near the top spots in the West for a long time and I love seeing a Canadian rivalry heat up.

Can't wait for game 3

The Canucks/Flames rivalry has flared up & waned over the years, and at times has been as big a rivalry as any for either team.
It's heating up again.
This may be the closest series, even though none of the series look to be cakewalks.

Way to go Habs!!! I have always liked Ottawa, but they seemed to have turned into a buncha whiny little babies. That stupid speech by the GM...another stupid speech by the coach. Geez...gimme a break. Stone should take up soccer. Subban missed more ice time than Stone.
Let me guess.....Hand pass by Prust....boo hoo hoo...buncha ottawa pushies. One more game and then the whining and excuses will really begin.
Hats off and respect to Anderson. He was scary good. I was worried he would get the shut-out and then its anyones series.
Bring on the friggin TB lightning!!!!
