Official 2015 NHL Playoffs Thread

Do you know that the Jets have led games for 65 minutes in the series and Anaheim has led for 11? And we're down 3-0.

Anaheim can go **** themselves.
lol, yeah, my sympathies and I 2nd that emotion. It seems unfair about the disparity in the Jets leading for the bulk of the series, but the Ducks finished #1 in the league for comeback wins. They can still go **** themselves, though.

I can't believe the refs, in Pittsburgh nonetheless, never called the Rangers for having six or seven guys on the ice all night.

Seriously though, the Rangers did a great job putting the hammer down on the Pens Monday night. 2-1 or 1-0 games are the kind I like to watch, even if 'my' team loses, but I'd prefer if they won.

Or Crysby's blatant elbow to the face and high stick to the head of McDonagh.

My comment was a joke attempting to explain how the Rangers were so efficient at locking down the ice. They had to have six, seven, maybe even eight guys on the ice. :)

I remember the '08 SCF with Detroit and Pittsburgh. The Red Wings were at their peak that year, and it felt like that then too. The only open ice was behind the Detroit defense, and there was no way they were letting anyone from Pittsburgh back there.

Damn. Burrows out with a broken rib. Apparently he was calling for help in the dressing room during practice today in Calgary.

Baertschi called in from Utica. The dude who scored twice in the final game of the season. Doesn't impress much, but he showed a little bit of what he can do and God knows the Canucks need some kind of grit and goal scoring right now.

If they lose tonight in Calgary, they are done for.

The Preds - Hawks game tonight was about as entertaining as playoff hockey can be. Hawks won in triple overtime 3 to 2.

Painful loss for Nashville as they probably did outplay Chicago overall. Smith was on fire the entire night. The difference in the game was the Hawks goalie, Darling. He was like a freaking magician and finished the evening with better than 96% save percentage.

Speaking of magic tricks, the Pred's netminder actually made the puck disappear into thin air in front of an audience of 50,000 plus millions of television viewers. The puck bounced into the crease and lodged itself somewhere in his equipment. Nobody knew where it went.

Seriously, he had to start taking off his equipment piece by piece, while the ref and linesmen and equipment trainer searched through it for the missing puck. After at least five minutes of this, they finally found it in the back part of his leg pad.

Also plenty of hard checking, including the always crowd pleasing pane of glass getting knocked out and falling into the crowd.

I just got another warning at HF Boards. The mods there are right ******, way worse than this place. *** is wrong with saying a bunch of teenagers arguing over whose bldg is loudest (even though most of them haven't even been in their own bldg, much less another team's) gives me jock itch?

Seriosuly. Hawks love their 2OT and 3OT. Every year. ;)

Thanks Kevin Bieksa for breaking one of the cardinal rules in playoff hockey "thou shalt not spew forth remarks regarding either a player or team that thou art in playoff battle with in the press that they mightist rally with." Bieksa has come out 3 times in the press calling Michael Ferland "irrelevant", a "dumb dumb", and (probably) intentionally misquoting his name (Ferkland). This has served to motivate a player that has seemingly come out of nowhere to dominate ("I love hearing the crowd when I score a hit" - he's been lovin' it this series as he's scored 26 to this point) and intimidate a team with his physical "in your face" play. The Flames rewarded him last night by adding him to their power play. Good to see a guy who has come from a challenging background to achieve the relevancy that he's attained to this point (replacing Lance Bouma late in the season).

I hate Ferland but I admire him for his comeback story a year ago. No doubt I have respect for someone who fought alcohol abuse to that extent and returned to the NHL To make a name for himself.

I hate it, but he definitely has been this series.

As for Bieksa...he needs to learn to keep his mouth shut.

He's just following the lead of former teammate Roberto Luongo. Anyone need their tires pumped up?
