The BTA-400 sold for $995 NZD
That’s ridiculously cheap IMO
Wow!
I wonder if it's due to the economy.

That's the lowest sale price I have seen. I think the previous was about $1400 USD (several years back), which is still a very good price. Used prices for used amps in the US are still extremely high. A BTA 400 appears to have sold off GC used a few weeks back for just under $2,000. A BTA300 that is labeled as a 400 is still on sale at the same store for $2250.
Seems like prices in the EU have dropped quite a bit recently. I have been keeping my eye out for a Marshall VBA 400. In the last month or two, 2-3 have popped up in the EU for under $1500. There is one currently listed for $1000. This amp does not pop up in the US very often, and recent asking prices have been up around $2000 or more. Mesa 400s and 400+s are also selling for more than they did a few years back.
Nice!!! I'm hoping to score a Mi12 one day. I wanna stack it with my Mi10 and Little Bastard. I really like thier voicing.Had an early first gen EVO for a number of years. Loved the sound, but had some issues with the electronics. Once that got sorted out, it was a great amp. (not a great photo...)

Picked up a Mi12 cab yesterday from Music Go Round. Looks almost brand new, and sounds great. I've only had it for a day, but definitely a good purchase. I also tried it as an extension cab with my Eden Nemesis 112 and that sounded great as well.

Love having this stack massaging my aging back.

I asked Ashdown about the difference between an ABM-EVO-IV 600 and the new ABM-EVO-V 750 and finally got this reply:I’m wondering how much difference there is between an ABM-EVO-IV 600 and the new ABM-EVO-V 750 other than an extra 5 lbs and 150 watts from the power section? I want an A/B amp that slams into an 800 watt 4-ohm 212 but $1700 plus tax for a new 750 is giving me pause. There is a used 600 at a reasonable price and I don’t know how many gigs I’ll have that will even need me to push it that hard with FOH support.
So... More headroom. LolI asked Ashdown about the difference between an ABM-EVO-IV 600 and the new ABM-EVO-V 750 and finally got this reply:
"They are similar but massively different power sections. The 750 takes everything to the next level. The pre amp is the only real similarity. The headroom is massive. I hope this helps."
Sounds like with a capable FOH system in mid sized venues where the bass amp is mostly for onstage monitoring, the EVO IV 600 through a 212 or 410 should be plenty. Some amps just don't have the headroom their rated wattage would imply and get harsh if pushed. Others like the Aggie DB751 have incredible headroom and depth at high volumes. I'm hoping the Ashdown is more like the big Aggie in this regard.So... More headroom. Lol
Ashdown IMO underrates thier power. It's more of a true RMS rating than other that rate the "peak" outputSounds like with a capable FOH system in mid sized venues where the bass amp is mostly for onstage monitoring, the EVO IV 600 through a 212 or 410 should be plenty. Installing a switch would be really easy as a DIY or generally cheap to have someone do it. If you're not comfy doi g it I'll bet you know someone who is.I’m wondering what it would take to add a tweeter mute switch to my MAG 410t? Would it do anything to the impedance if I just cut one of the tweeter wires and add a switch?
Also wondering if it would be better to order a new panel that already has the switch… any suggestions?
What I like about this amp is, you can crank the input way up, and it doesn’t distort. It also makes this little guy roar!
