How’s the volume level of your setup? Loud enough for shows?

What kind of music? Rock? It'll handle a rowdy house party/small bar. Bigger than that I'd take the ABM300. I have another Mibass 12 that lives at my brother's for when I'm in town. I am exited to hear how the two 12s sound working together.

@BassGreaser IMO after spending thousands in the past few years trying all the different tube amps and preamps I could nothing has had the same tube magic "sparkle" as the LBs. This is my 3rd time having one because I kept coming back to it. I can get maybe 75+80% of that magic out of the ABM with the EQ section off some light compression and tweaking the valve pre on it.
I feel if you want a better recording all tube amp you're gonna have a hard time beating it.

I’ve had one for a very short period of time about 12 years ago but never gigged it but loved it tone.

Now that I’m gigging again I miss that all tube tone a lot.

I play in a reggae band, blues, and rock bands.. the rock band being the loudest but I tend to want an overdriven sound for that setting.

Plus most venues I’m playing had full sound system.

I would recommend the LB 550 if you can find one. I'm dumb and had it but let it go off into the wild. If you see one with a Blue VU meter that was mine.
It could stay completely clean with all the tube magic at a very high volume for the reggae and blues.

Shortly after I got my CTM30, the first iteration, (which is the same as the LB30, only in black livery) on the one of the Ashdown FB pages, Mr. Mark Gooday chimed in, try turning everything up full, or at least the mids, for a pure rock tone. WOW! He is so right! Through my RM210/115T stack it's plenty loud for anything I'm likely to do. (If I need more, I do have a MAG300 non-EVO.) The CTM30s have been gently revised over the years, but are still essentially the same amp, but supposedly a touch cleaner.

We had a nice visit with Dan Gooday at this past NAMM Show. The new EVO heads sound great, and while it sounds a bit thin on the video, that little 1x10 sounded way more big and full than it had any right to. I was very impressed with all of their rigs, especially that little 1x10.

Hi, does anyone have an ABM-1200 or 900 that they could measure for me? I'm looking for the width of the head not including the feet and handle.

My 600 fits perfectly on my Genzler 112 cabs and I was wondering if the 1200 would match the width of the bass array 410s.

Hi ti all!

I’ve just seen the new RM EVO III heads.. what do you think about it? Does anyone of you have tried them?

Thanks
To play live with the rig RM versus ABM I would save a little extra for the ABM. To quote Jeremy Clarkson probably, "the ABM stands for Astonishing Bass Magic, and at the end of the day there's just nothing quite like it"

I had an rm300 that honestly hit just as hard and was just as loud as a darkglass 500. It was the little red face model and it was a fine amp nothing wrong with it at all. Unless you need the Sim capabilities and a lightweight compact package the RM will do just fine but I might pick a dark glass product over it for more digital capabilities.

We checked them out at NAMM, and I was impressed. They really sounded great, and the little 300w version with the 1x10 was really something!

@tombowlus were you able to inquire about any specific differences between the Rex Brown head (RB-800-EVO III), and the standard RM-800-EVO III?
On Asdown's website, the specs are identical, aside from the RB being made in England, and the graphics.

It was a bit of a whirlwind at NAMM (always is), so this didn't come up. I can ask them, though.

I did see one video where Dan Gooday stated that there were some refinements to the treble response and the gain structure, because of Rex's brighter, cutting tone.

Thanks so much to all ;)

About the Darkglass (i’m interested in this head too), which differences about the sound between those two heads?

According to Mark Gooday, the difference is made in the UK, with custom alloy front and printing, but otherwise identical.

So the new rm evo iii are Made in England? I see that in the photos of the back is reported “Made in China”…
